Hello,
My group of friends and I had a great time staying at Sunlit Serenity! Although the house is a bit outdated, it had everything we needed and had plenty of room for 10 people.
The fire pit, hot tub, and boat slip was awesome to have and we had no issues with anything.
Beware there are a ton of daddy long legs as the house is nestled back in the woods, but overall we would book this place again!
The house was perfect for our annual family vacation. Different bedrooms on different floors meant that the young kids could go to be early and get up early and the late risers were in the basement. The kitchen was well outfitted for cooking most of our meals, It was clean and comfortable. We made s'mores on our last night at the fire pit and enjoyed days at the lake or hiking or at the Discovery Center. It made a great home base for our adventures around Deep Creek.
Our stay was nice and the home had the space we needed. It was decently close to Wisp and places to eat, etc. We were surprised by how little the house / property management company provided in the house, compared to many other trips. The house generally could use an update and deep cleaning.

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in, communication
The check in process was very disjointed. I called 3 days ahead to inquire about early check in. I was told by the first Railey Vacations staff that it was available early. I then called back to confirm that my group did want early check in. However I was told that it was not available. I was also told by this staff member that we could get there after 1 pm and drop off our gear (bikes and boats) if housekeeping hadn’t been to the property yet. We arrive to the property at approximately 1:30 PM on our check-in day, we called to see if housekeeping had been into the home yet. The staff member I talked to at this point told me we weren’t supposed to even be on the property. I let her know that someone at her company had just told us yesterday that we could drop off gear and if the house was clean, we were more than welcome to enter early. The communication throughout this process was poor. I think it would go a long way to assign one specific staff member to a particular reservation. Every time I called, I talked to someone different and got a different answer to my questions.
The property was clean, well-maintained, spacious & within close proximity to Wisp for a day of skiing. Our only concern was that the steps to the front door had inches of ice which made it impossible to access the front door due to safety concerns.
Had a girls weekend away. perfect clean house. hot tub was perfect…. Only concern was mattress on bunk beds needs an update, other then that couldn’t ask for a better place.
It was wonderful!!! Very relaxing and a really nice place to stay. Especially enjoyed being able to bring our dogs. Wish it were a little farther from a main road, but, other than that… it was wonderful!
Our family of 5 (“kids” age 22, 20, 18) had a great time at Sunlit Serenity for the long MLK weekend. We skied at Wisp one day and spent the next day playing pool and in the hot tub with a fire in the fireplace the whole time. The cabin was as represented in the photos, very roomy and clean, comfortable mattresses for sleeping. We had one issue with the cable that was fixed quickly and without hassle. We would love to come back another time! Easy to relax, lots to do! Thank you!
Had a great time.Location was central to alot of places. Had a few hiccups: The mattresses on a few beds were very poor, took awhile to figure out. how to use the showers, one shower the water wouldn't turn off but one of our group fixed it. Would rent this again.

Nice stay, not like pictures though
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Sunlit Serenity. Our group is not difficult to please. The property really doesn’t look much like the photos online though... they’re clearly VERY outdated and the rooms are much smaller than they appear. We used the hot tub, pool table and fire pit quite a bit! The lake is about a 10 minute walk from the property, or you can drive (about a 2 minutes trek). This was very convenient!
Unfortunately during our stay the septic system malfunctioned and overflowed into the back of the property. The reality company sent plumbers over that night (a Sunday). It wasn’t able to be fixed at that time as the entire system needed to be dug up, but they were certainly prompt in fixing the issue.
Again, we enjoyed our stay and had a great time. Don’t expect the property to look like it does in the pictures or be as spacious as it appears— expect more of an outdated but overall clean property in the woods (which includes the bugs and critters of the woods). We did see a black bear in the yard one night but it quickly ran away when it spotted us.
Our stay couldn’t have been better. Went to the lake during the day and enjoyed the hot tub and the campfire st night.

Great Escape
We had a wonderful time here for 4 days over the Martin Luther King Day weekend!! The pictures that you have off the rooms are 100% accurate. The house is extremely cozy and we had a fire going most of the time - given the temperatures in the teens, that was a good thing! Kids loved the hot tub and we all enjoyed the pool table!
Beds were very comfy in each room, and having 3 full bathrooms was great! It was our first time at Deep Creek and it won't be our last for sure!!
