"This property was AMAZING!! From the view, to the staff, to even the great little blue truck selling coffee and ice cream was great. The room even had a record player with cool vinyls ready to play like Beach Boy’s Pet Sounds and Bob Marley’s greatest hits. How cool! The property was clean and looked like it was recently renovated with some modern touches. Another great perk if you have kids, they had fire pits on the beach they lit every night. One night my daughter asked if they were going to light the fires so she could cook s’mores, but unfortunately it was too windy and unsafe too and knowing she was sad to hear the news they gave her a bag of chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers to eat in her room. That just made her night! Thank you so much Tides! Nobody would be disappointed to stay here. The only down side, if there is really one, is we would have wished the bathroom was like a foot bigger. The location cannot be beat - this hotel is just steps from the public beach access, multiple restaurants, the bus stop (free service to downtown Newport during the summer), and a short walk to the beautiful Cliff Walk. "We booked the king room with a harbor view. The room, on the top floor, had a beam ceiling with brick walls, which we appreciated as we enjoy historical inns. The picture window was a plus. The complimentary continental breakfast was plentiful and changed each morning. Staff members were attentive."
