Awesome Family Lake Trip

Long weekend 4th of July trip and we had an awesome time! This house has a really nice view and having some kayaks was a plus! Plenty of seating outside. You will not find better hosts! We would stay here again.

We had the most amazing stay! Marsha was truly the most wonderful host — warm, responsive, and so thoughtful in making sure every detail was perfect for our visit. The home was spotless, beautifully stocked, and felt like our own little lakeside retreat. Lake Martin was absolutely stunning — peaceful mornings, gorgeous sunsets, and endless opportunities for fun on the water. We can’t wait to come back and would recommend Marsha’s place to anyone looking for the perfect Lake Martin getaway!

Fabulous Time

This is the one of the cleanest properties we have stayed at so far. I spoke with Marsha the host several times. She is very gracious, answered all questions I had and was very helpful with directions getting there to anything we needed. We loved the house and the property. The pier and boat dock were very convenient. Loved this place, will stay again.

Amazing Lake House

We had a wonderful birthday weekend for our daughter at the lake home! The property is beautiful, the views are breathtaking, especially the sunset! The house is stocked with everything you could possibly need and the owners are fabulous!

Wonderful Stay

Absolutely wonderful property and lake cabin. We had a large group (11-12) and had no problem with sleeping arrangements. Everything was very comfortable and the whole site is just relaxing. Marsha and Jerry are the best! So helpful and nice, what a great place to unwind!

October 2022 trip

We loved this house and property. The kitchen has every gadget you would ever need for cooking. It is very spacious with plenty of tables and chairs inside and out, has beautiful views with the sunset off the front. We did not want to leave. The owners are extremely nice.

The Perfect Lakehouse!

Great location with big open water views, good dock for hanging out or swimming. Location is close to Smith Mtn, beaches and Lakeside Marina fairly close by. Owners are super friendly and easily contacted, the house was very clean and had everything you would need for a family vacation. Also, lots of parking for truck/trailer and few more cars. Overall an AMAZING place! Thank you Marsha and Jerry for sharing it with us :-)

Graduation celebration weekend

The outdoor feature of this property is by far 5 stars - you are right on the water with plenty of outdoor seating and a fire pit which we used two nights of our stay. The indoors is delightfully eclectic, retro and fun with plenty of room to eat, lounge and sleep. The only caution would be if you are trying to cook meals, the appliances are quite dated and you will need to take that into account. Otherwise, it was fantastic - great location!

Wonderful stay at Lake Martin

This is a terrific place at a great location. The pier has just been expanded & provides a wonderful setup to enjoy being on the lake, even though it is currently way down. Great plusses: plenty of room, both inside & outside; no hill to go up & down; fantastic views both upstairs & downstairs; plenty of chairs & tables on the Lake level; owner great to work with. Minus: upstairs kitchen had no utensils or cooking equipment. Overall: a great place that we hope to visit again.

Room to spread out

First of all Marsha and Jerry Hanks are just so friendly and accommodating! The rental property has it all! House is exactly as seen via internet. All the comforts of home including big screen tvs and fully equipped kitchen. The property has been thoughtfully landscaped with several areas to gather or to find a quiet spot to read. Could go on and on with nothing but good things to say about this stay! Best compliment I can give is that everyone voted to return next year!

Beautiful lakefront access

We greatly enjoyed our family get together. The outside view and lake access were wonderful and the fish were definitely biting! Our boys fished until midnight and caught 30 or so fish! Kayaks were included and were great! We also enjoyed building a bonfire in the fire pit with the abundant wood provided. We took our 2 dogs and they had so much fun being allowed off leash to run and explore the large yard and woods surrounded on 3 sides by water. Great rental!! Thank you Marsha and Jerry for sharing your awesome property with us!

Great Lake front property!!

This was a great property with great amenities! The covered pier was a lifesaver (with 2 infants) while the kids swam there was a place to sit out of the sun!!(the pier had ceiling fans also—yay!!) The kayaks were an added treat!! The yard was fairly flat and there were no stairs you had climb down to get to the pier. It was a really beautiful setting!! The inside was adequate. It was clean. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked! The master bedroom was very nice.

Lake Life

This was an excellent property and Marsha and Jerry, the hosts, were extremely attentive to our needs. the house is very well supplied with all your indoor and outdoor activities. Great boat ramp, great two (2) docks, great patio, grill, screened in porch, and easy access from the house to the water. My only complaint, and very minor, is that there is a 100 extra fee per pet. It is listed on the VRBO site and I thought that VRBO would collect it. They don't, so be prepared to pay if you bring a pet. Other than that, everything was excellent. Thank you Marsha and Jerry.

Wonderful lakefront retreat!

I can’t say enough great things about this classic, nostalgic lakefront home! Lots of room for 2 families! The 2 sets of parents had a room to ourselves and the teenagers each had a twin bed and their own space to hang out in. Beautiful views of the lake, easy to find by car, covered dock and floating dock to tie the boat up to, & another fishing pier on the property too! My husband was grateful to be able to use the on site boat ramp as well. Fully equipped with literally EVERYTHING you need! Just bring yourselves and your groceries. Marsha and Jerry are so nice, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Super hosts!! Can’t wait to go back! We had a wonderful time!

Wonderful Stay

Our first visit to Lake Martin and The Peninsula was great. Half way between Nashville and Fairhope is Lake Martin. Our Fairhope friends met us there and we didn’t leave until checkout. This is truly a unique property on the lake, very private. The house is very comfortable, well appointed, big TV (ready for your Netfix, Prime, etc, login), and the fantastic views of the lake. Also, a perfect place for a dog. Our guy had a blast, being on a peninsula your dog has plenty of room to run and swim without worrying about the neighbors. There are so many different areas to enjoy here- the patio, upper screened porch, covered dock, swimming platform, fishing platform (we caught a few bass), walking trail around the peninsula. And, plenty of kayaks with paddles (bring your life jackets). This was one of our more enjoyable rentals and our host, Marsha was outstanding. I highly recommend.
