PERFECT LISTING !!! House in Historic Chickamauga

  • We welcome you to visit our quaint small town nestled in the foothills of Lookout Mountain, Georgia just 20 mins from Chattanooga, TN. This private residence is situated on the grounds of the historic Gordon-Lee Mansion in the heart of Chickamauga, Georgia.

    Amenities include 5 bedrooms, 2 full baths (King master suite on main level), full size kitchen, open concept living and dining room, laundry room, sunroom with wet bar, and outdoor patio area. Home has been newly furnished and kept meticulously clean. Enjoy the beautiful gardens on the property as well as seasonal tours of the Gordon Lee Mansion, built in 1847. (Contact friendsofthegordonleemansion.org for tour dates.)

    The home is conveniently located within walking distance to our charming downtown district. Take the sidewalk to a variety of restaurants and unique shops. Be sure to visit Crawfish Springs, directly across the street.

    Drive 5 minutes across town to Lee and Gordon’s Mills to fish or launch your kayak/canoe into the West Chickamauga Creek. Don’t forget to bring your bicycles and enjoy a safe ride through the Chickamauga Battlefield, the oldest and largest National Military Park in the U.S.

    The children will enjoy the Holland Watson Veterans Park, located in town on the corner of Crittenden Avenue and W 8th Street. The park offers a playground, basketball court, beach volleyball court, and a pavilion for picnics.

    Just north of downtown Chickamauga on Highway 341 you’ll find our Coke Oven Park. The original 1890’s beehive coke ovens and train cars were reclaimed and restored in the 1990’s and the park has since been maintained and preserved by the City of Chickamauga.

Lovely property and well located. Close enough to drive in to Chattanooga for a day trip. Plenty of towels for our large group which was very much appreciated. Overall an exceptional experience.

Excellent property literally located inside an historical park. Across the street from locally historical Crawfish Springs. Quiet and peaceful. Very spacious, clean and with updated interior and kitchen. Clear communications with owner. Easy access to Chattanooga and the Chickamauga National Battlefield Park which provides hiking and biking on prepared trails an quiets roadways. Also near access to local waterways.Very nice property with room for multiple people.5 star *****

We loved the location. So much to explore and such a rich history in a very charming little town. The kids loved having the large open yard land to explore and play around. It was a fantastic getaway.

Our stay near the museum was amazing! We learned so much about the area The house was clean with plenty of room for everyone, I would recommend mats for the tubs but overall a 5 star rating!

Summer stay at the green house

Wonderful property to stay at. Would highly recommend to anyone. Only issue is there is no outdoor seating to enjoy the summer evenings other than that everything was perfect

Beautiful spot loaded with history

I chose to stay here the night before my wedding with my groomsmen. There was plenty of space, enough beds and easy access. Although I stayed one night myself, my guys were happy with the location and the house itself.

Lovely home with awesome location!

The house was just as described and my group love the historical grounds they could explore. Only about 25 minutes to Chattanooga, so it was very conveniently located. The town of Chicamauga was adorable and had all the amenities you need. I highly recommend this rental!

Wonderful stay in Chattanooga area!

What a wonderful family vacation in the Chattanooga area. We loved all the green space around the house, and the house itself was comfortable with everything we needed. The short distance to Chattanooga attractions made this home very convenient, and our kids loved the historic setting. We loved Rainbow Lake falls, Rock City, and the Tennessee Aquarium.

What fun!

The whole family walked around the property and thoroughly enjoyed the history. Everyone from the 20-year-old, to the 85-year-old! The trip there had been pretty rough, so pulling into a property that turned out to be so much fun for us, was such a treat! Thanks much, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!

Great house for families!

My sister and I brought our families here for a post-Christmas getaway and the house was perfect! Two rooms for the adults downstairs and all the teens took the top bedrooms. The house is beautiful and historic, perfect for our stay. We enjoyed walking to downtown Chickamauga for dinner and it was a quick drive to other attractions that we visited (Rock City, Chickamauga battlefield, downtown Chattanooga). We loved it!

Nice and easy

Our family enjoyed our stay. We were visiting the sights of Chattanooga and it was nice to stay outside of the hustle of the city. The place was perfect for our family as far as size and sleeping arrangements. The only downside was that the weather wasn’t great our first night so we thought we'd stick around and watch a movie but the tv in the main room was small and hard to accommodate everyone…I know, not much to even mention. Check in was easy and we found everything in good condition.

We traveled to Chickamauga for a family wedding and found this property. It worked well for our group of 5. We used 4 of the 5 bedrooms. The property is ideally located in the very center of downtown Chickamauga on the grounds of an historic mansion. There isn't much to do in Chickamauga and found we had to travel outside of the small town for most of what we wanted to do but a great choice and it worked well. We had no internet upon arrival but the host/manager immediately had a crew to the house for the repair.The only other comment I would offer is relative to bathrooms. There is a full, small bathroom on the 2nd floor where 3 bedrooms are located. And a larger full bath on the first floor for use by the two bedrooms on that level located on opposite sides of the home. The bathroom is located inside the one bedroom so it was awkward for general use and for the other bedroom occupants. Not a huge deal.Note the kitchen has only a regular 12 cup coffee pot and not a Keurig as most properties. We always bring along our K cups and had to find other coffee after arrival.We would recommend this property and would happily stay there again.
