Very quirky french property. 3 bedrooms upstairs in main building with one in an annexe with its own small lounge & toilet. Large very well equipped kitchen. Great size lounge & dining area with ceiling fan. The pool is fantastic, heated perfectly and in a separate poolhouse. Its 2 metres deep throughout so be aware. Lovely garden & courtyards which can be used to sit in. Aswith many french properties you have to be prepared for local flora & fauna. We enjoyed Derek the bats flights in the evenings! Alfred & Ruth were fabulous hosts, very generous with their home grown produce and advice. The local wine was very much appreciated. Supermarkets about 15 mins drive away but had all you needed. Loved our holiday with our family. Do visit Terra Botanica and biopark zoo as our whole family from 3 to 69 had a wonderful time in both. About 1& 1/2 hours away. Chateaux were amazing as was the weather. Would stay again. Love this area.

Large quirky property - very french with excellent pool

Had a very enjoyable stay, lovely property but listing didn’t give the full picture. It does not have air conditioning (just one ceiling fan in conservatory), the listed restaurants nearby no longer existed or only open for lunch, rickety spiral staircase to two of the bedrooms and bathroom is downstairs only. However it’s an old property with thick walls so is naturally cooler, there are restaurants/shops 15 mins drive away and the pool is the best we have ever had in a holiday property (warm, clean etc). We only saw the host once when we arrived and he was very helpful. Very peaceful and well equipped property.

Three generations had a great Easter week

This is a lovely old house with many original features which has been restored and modernised without losing any of its charm or character. The owner lives next door and is very welcoming and helpful but unobtrusive. We found the house spacious, well equipped, comfortable and very nice and warm during a chilly week in early April. Outside there are lots of different sheltered and shady seating areas and the garden is fantastic for easter egg hunts! Surrounded by quiet roads and flat rolling countryside, it's in a great area for family walks and bike rides while the large deep indoor swimming pool is warm and inviting whatever the outside weather. As a group which included very small children, we did find the layout of the accommodation a bit tricky because the bedrooms are accessed by three separate staircases and the main bathroom is off the kitchen.

Une parenthèse enchantée en Vienne

En quête d'un endroit pour renouer avec la sérénité et la nature, nous avons eu un immense coup de coeur pour la propriété d'Alfred et Ruth. L'endroit est immense, avec de multiples recoins qui incitent à la flânerie. La litterie est de qualité, chaque chambre possède son propre cachet. L'ensemble est très bien équipé. Une grande partie du jardin est accessible et donne vue sur un beau champs de tournesols ; le jardin en lui-même est merveilleux avec ses bassins et son potager. La piscine couverte et chauffée, très bien entretenue, permet de se baigner en toute occasion. Les hôtes sont charmants, de bons conseils et toujours prêts à aider. Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour et n'hésiterons pas à revenir. Merci pour tout ! Famille Villa.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. La maison est très grande, bien équipée. Les extérieurs sympas. La piscine intérieure chauffée à 30° est un vrai très gros plus, d'autant que le beau temps n'a pas toujours été là. Les propriétaires sont vraiment très agréables, très intéressants et très accueillants; Et aussi très réactifs : La Tv a "claquée" un soir à 19h30 et à 21h un nouveau téléviseur était en place. Nous recommandons cette location.

Warm and friendly

We stayed for two weeks at the beginning of august. The property is beautiful plenty of room for all of us with everything you need during your stay. There are several areas to relax a large courtyard area with areas to enjoy the sun or in shade if it’s too warm. There is a bbq area in the courtyard and a separate bbq area over looking the garden with wonderful views of the sunset. The garden is beautiful and very private. The pool was always warm and always available. The hosts are really lovely people, communication was great and informative. They are available if needed without being at all intrusive. The area is very quiet but it was a great base from where we could explore the château and other attractions Richelieu was a favourite for us all. Thank you for a perfect stay

Superbe propriété avec un jardin magnifique

Alfred nous a reçu très chaleureusement. Il était à la fois très accessible en cas de besoin tout en étant discret. La propriété est calme, atypique, et vraiment très bien équipée. Le cadre est très agréable en particulier le très grand jardin. Il y a plein d'espaces différents et chacun est à son aise. La piscine couverte est très bien entretenue. Merveilleux endroit

Un havre de paix aux portes de Richelieu. Maison magnifique. Tout y est pensé avec soin pour le repos et le bien-être des hôtes dans les espaces intérieurs comme extérieurs pour les petits comme pour les grands. Alfred est adorable et d'une discrétion précieuse. Nous reviendrons avec joie y passer quelques jours.

Un excellent séjour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, au calme. L'endroit est très plaisant et très bien aménagé, proche de Loudun, Richelieu et Chinon. Les propriétaires sont proches de la location, ce qui est très utile en cas de questions. Ils sont très charmants et respectent l'intimité des voyageurs. Tout avait été préparé dans la maison pour notre séjour et nous n'avions qu'à nous soucier de nous installer confortablement et profiter de l'endroit. Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour (visite des environs, balades et la maison en elle-même) et nous reviendrons sans aucun doute ! Merci.
