This was a great location and property, enjoyed the local restaurants and living space that allowed us to beat the heat of Iowa in August while still hanging out with our group in between visits to the State Fair.

Downtown Des Moines wedding

We really enjoyed Savannah’s home. Our kids, their significant others and my husband and I were in town for a wedding. We enjoyed playing bags in the backyard, games in the family room and used the kitchen to prepare meals. Coffee on the lovely enclosed front porch was a must each day. It was a great location to our downtown, Des Moines, wedding venue, rehearsal dinner, and after party. We could walk downtown during the day for exercise. Lots of restaurants cute bars, and shops. Thank you so much for letting us use your home!

Very Nice Contemporary Interior, plus Comfortable & Convenient Location

Love the contemporary and spacious interior! And within easy walking distance of fun restaurants, bars & shops. Plus convenient to downtown, Drake campus, art museum, etc. I would definitely stay here again!

Nicely renovated older home

The charm of the outside of this home extends to the inside. Nice, new kitchen appliances, beautiful downstairs bathroom, and the two beds we used were *really* comfortable. Super high speed wi-fi! Large smart TV in the living room occupied our evening during our 2-night Covid stay.

Cousin reunion

My cousin & I came to Des Moines for my Aunt’s Memorial Service, which was lovely. We have 2 cousins who live here & this house was the perfect location for us. We could get everywhere we needed to go in less then 15 minutes! Even with road construction it was easy to walk to a Caribou coffee, grocery store, & just to look around the neighborhood. Would stay again. The only possible problem could be the steep stairs up to the 2nd floor & the varied ceiling heights in the upstairs bathroom. I would stay again!

Wedding Weekend

This house was located close to all the places that we needed to be for the wedding. It was close to grocery store, coffee stop, restaurants. The house had room for us to store items we needed for events throughout the weekend, gave us room to plan and prepare for events during the weekend, and had room for small groups to come and visit. The bedrooms were spacious and had 2 bathrooms which were nice when there were many having to be ready at the same time. The upstairs shower was not easy for my husband to use due to it being in a bath tub and he had surgery recently, but he used the downstairs one which worked just fine. The driveway is very tight and shared with the neighbor but there was room to be able to turn vehicle around so one could drive out and not have to back out. There was a great sitting area in the back with lighting for the evening. Thank you to Savannah who was quick to answer any questions and help with anything needed. I would recommend to others.

Des Moines Gem

If you are reading my review you may see the one from a couple of months ago that said this was not a good location. On the contrary, it is a great location. The neighborhood is old but very safe and it is convenient to everything. Samantha was very responsive and the property was exactly as descrbied. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay.

Not a great location

It's interesting that in the title of this rental it says "Perfect Location". This location is very "inner city." If you're considering renting here, you need to go on google maps first and look at the neighborhood to see if it's what you're comfortable with. We had a problem with the double glass doors going out to the patio. Savannah had asked us not to use them which makes it difficult to use the deck. When we got there, they were clearly not secured. We tried to get them to lock and couldn't see any way to get them locked. Savannah did offer to come lock them for us later but we were gone by that time. Our other issue was the upstairs bedroom. The stairs going up were very steep and it was quite warm up there. While there was a window a/c unit running, 6 hours later it still wasn't any cooler upstairs (at 8:30 pm), it certainly wasn't cool enough to sleep there. At that point we found a motel and let her know we wouldn't be staying. We paid just over $1,000 for this rental and didn't get any money back. We would've stayed if we'd felt ok with it.

Beautifully Styled Modern Home

Beautiful Home! Savanah is amazing! We somehow got locked out of the back door since it’s tricky to get into but she came and unlocked it for us and gave us the code to the front door!! Very clean, same decor and quality that I would choose for my home, so beautifully designed and professionally decorated ! Everything is 5 stars! I am just a type A person that loves to have everything organized! It’s hard for me to wait to get the entry information until RIGHT at check in time even if we are unable to check in early. We were all traveling 3+ hours to meet there and I didn’t want to all get there and can’t get in. There was a glitch with the VRBO app when I asked for the information a few days before and she didn’t respond. Most places give you the info days in advance, so I called and she called right back! Now knowing Savanah I would never hesitate to stay there again. She’s on top of things I was just over worried !!
