“What a unique stay! Bungalows are in the woods surrounded by nature. We felt secluded and enjoyed the wildlife all around us. The hiking trails were wonderful, and the staff friendly and helpful. The bungalows are clean and modern and come with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Also conveniently close to restaurants and shops. Loved it!”

“Had an initial mix-up but after that it was a nice stay and Carlos was super helpful and friendly. The beach is close by, the domes are fun and there is wildlife all around with a monkey troupe in the trees above each evening. The nearby bioluminescent bay is a highlight.Thank you!”

“Rooms were clean and tidy but the kitchen was not. Coffee maker had mold, silverware and dishes were not clean, we ended up eating out instead of cooking. Pool was beautiful and clean. Property was a wonderful place to relax and explore. Proximity to town was great assuming you have transportation. Check out the garden Maze nextdoor.”

“We were in CR for a month and stayed here for five days. We loved the quiet gated community with a pool and plenty of wildlife. The villa was perfect for us with just a short drive to several beaches and markets. Mary has the house fully stocked to make your beach experience easy for travelers; beach chairs, an umbrella, beach towels etc. Our favorite part was watching the monkeys and macaws out by the pool in the evenings. “This condo was so cute, modern, very clean, just wonderful. It is in a private location but didn’t feel too secluded for female travelers. I felt safe, parking was easy, handicapped accessible ground floor. Met the owner, very nice man, he clearly takes lots of pride in his home and offering a great stay to his guests. There were a few snacks and drinks provided which was nice. Perfect location to visit Monteverde. Price was reasonable. I had NO bug issues here, which if you stay in Monteverde……

As others have mentioned, Fred and the front team at Hotel Mar/Don Taco where you check in are really nice and helpful, they take you around to the secluded house that is owned by the brother of the hotel owner. You can park on site for free and it’s safe. 400m down to town where nice restaurants are available. Close by shops also for everything you need.
