“The rooms have European standards, and the hotel is small and intimate. A real gem! Highly recommended! Good security, on site parking for free. The rooms are spacious and clean, but of course; this is Tanzania, so hot water and wifi might not be top notch at all times, so don't rely on the wifi for work for example. Benson at the reception was very helpful, and works as a concierge if you need to. Don't think twice - book this one, I'll book it for my next trip to Moshi for sure! ”

“I love this hotel! It’s clean and super safe (they have a security guard at the gate). The staff is helpful and welcoming. They can help you find restaurants, get a a taxi, even just answer questions about Tanzanian culture. Most speak very good English. The owner is onsite almost everyday and really nice. It felt like a home away from home. Don’t expect anything fancy though. The rooms are comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The top selling point is the atmosphere, which you can’t get at……

“Wonderful experience! If you’re traveling from another country absolutely everything you need is at this property. They offer airport pickups, tours of the market and best of all, a personal chef who made some amazing meals for us. Everything was fresh, beautifully prepared, plenty of selection and reasonably priced. Our market guide was super helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and informative. “We had a great stay at lilac hideaway but the thing that stood out most are the way they stepped up to help guests with travel plans We rented a dud 4x4 and it would not start after we checked in - but Eli jumped in an d organized mechanics to come and then drove with us to take the car to the mechanics once they had gotten a new battery in.
