Gasthof mitten verkehrsberuhigter Zone

mein Zimmer war klein aber sauber. Die Treppen sind sehr schmal und man muss aufpassen, dass man nicht stolpert. Durch Corona war die Rezeption nicht besetzt und ich musste ca. 15 min. im Regen warten. Keine Hotel eigenen Parkplätze vorhanden.

Lange Wartezeit bis Rezeption besetzt. Sehr sehr einfach ausgestatetes EZ. Altes Bad. Gebäude sehr alt, historisch mit Charm. Mitte in engen Gassen, Altstadt. Parken problematisch. P/L ungenügend.

Das Zimmer war sauber und in Ordnung. Der Empfang war leider unfreundlich und beim Frühstück gab es für den Preis wenig Auswahl. Zudem läuten ab 6 Uhr morgens die Kirchenglocken direkt gegenüber. Ausschlafen mit offenem Fenster ist dementsprechend nicht möglich.

Wohlfühlhotel geht anders

Bereits beim Eintreffen im Hotel ist uns die Unfreundlichkeit des Personals, insbesondere der Chefin übel aufgefallen. Wir reisen sehr viel, aber sowas ist uns letztmals vor 40 Jahren untergekommen, als wir als junges Paar verreist sind und die Hotelbranche noch meilenweit vom heutigen gästeorientierten Service entfernt war. Beim Frühstück, das man coronabedingt bereits am Vorabend ordern musste, sollte man tunlichst vermeiden, irgendwas nachzubestellen. Nachdem die Gäste am Nebentisch gewagt hatten, weiteren Kaffee zu ordern und etwas später auch noch Milch verlangten, war die Kellnerin total überfordert und ließ ihren Unmut lautstark hören. Sowas geht gar nicht. Die Zimmer waren zwar nicht so, wie wir uns das aufgrund der Internetansicht vorgestellt hatten, waren aber im großen und ganzen in Ordnung. Einziger Lichtblick in diesem Hotel war die Reinigungsfrau, die immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit war.

Sehr schön und zweckmäßig renovierte Zimmer in historischem Gebäude. Sehr ruhig. Gutes fränkisches Essen. Hervorzuheben ist das Vorhandensein eines Fahrstuhls. Parksituation in den engen Gassen problematisch.

Das Hotel sollte die Angaben zum Hotel und zu den Zimmern überprüfen und ändern! Wenn ich in der Beschreibung und Buchung eine Zimmergröße von 20 qm sehe und auch so buche, bin ich mit 9,5 qm (inkl. Bad) nicht einverstanden.Die Zimmergröße ist für mich kein unwichtiger Buchungsgrund und so falsche Angaben verzerren den Wettbewerb erheblich. Und die "Designer-Kosmetikartikel" sind ein Seifenspender aus dem Supermarkt. Auch die Angabe "kostenlose Parkplätze" trifft nicht ganz zu. Es gibt direkt am Hotel 3-4 Parkplätze in einer Altstadtgasse, die von 17 - 10 Uhr kostenlos sind, tagsüber aber Gebühren kosten. Bei meiner Ankunft war noch ein Parkplatz an der Kirche (ca. 100 m entfernt) frei. Wer also größeres oder mehr Gepäck hat, sollte vorher ausladen und dann einen Parkplatz suchen. Ansonsten war das Hotel sauber und das Essen in der Gaststube sehr gut. Das Frühstück war einfach aber gut und ausreichend. Das Hotel hat auf alle Fälle seine Kunden, die genau so etwas suchen. Also warum dann so dermassen Übertreiben und Gäste, die etwas anderes suchen verärgern?

An in expected delight!

We had an awesome time in Dettelbach at Gruener Baum. I booked it randomly because my BFF and I were driving from Hannover to Starnberg and it was in the middle. What an unexpected delight! The restaurant below was full but we got the last table available and ended up partying with the locals. It was a great opportunity to meet the local patrons and have fun. Our room was clean and the bathroom was large and remodeled, something we hadn’t seen in our travels. It was quiet at night. We were late to fruehstuck but the owner offered us food to take in the road which was perfect for our agenda. Vielen Dank, Gruener Baum!

Zimmer war unter dem Dach und dadurch sehr warm. Fenster gingen auch auf die Strasse hinaus und waren durch den Autoverkehr sehr laut. Wir waren im Gästehaus untergebracht. Dauerparkplätze gibt es nur am Rand von Dettelbach, ungefähr 5 Minuten vom Gästehaus entfernt. Beim ersten Frühstück wurden wir sehr unfreundlich empfangen da für uns nicht eingedeckt war. Was sich nachher als Fehler der Rezeption herausstellte, wir waren einfach nicht angereist, und deshalb gestrichen. Insgesamt wenig professionelles Personal. Zimmer selbst gut ausgestattet und sauber.

Mycket trevlig personal. Vi fick bo i ett annex ett kvarter från hotellet, vilket absolut inte gjorde något då det låg i skugga och var ganska svalt. Balkongen/terassen som delades med ett annat rum vette tyvärr mot en tegelvägg ca 50 cm från räcket, så någon fin utsikt var det inte precis. Rummet helt ok, något hårda sängar. Frukosten serverades på hotellet så man fick en liten promenad morgonkvisten. Bra frukost.

Not what we expected but enjoyed our stay

The hotel doesn't look much like the photograph on the main picture and took some finding. We thought from the picture that we were going to a country house hotel. In fact the hotel is more like an old coaching inn and is situated right in the centre of the small and very quiet town of Dettelbach. It is possible to find parking in the street and there are three spaces outside the hotel. We don't speak German and they don't speak much English but, as there were no problems, it wasn't an issue. We didn't use the restaurant or public areas so can't comment on them. The room was quiet, clean and up to date. Local surroundings are lovely for an evening wander and there are paths and cycle tracks to go further. There is a bike rental on the corner but it only opens pm and is closed on Tuesdays. Good wifi. Good breakfast. several eating options around. had a nice walk along the river.
