Great views, humid rooms

We stayed at Monsoon Grande in Dec 2019. The view of the tea plantation from the room was wonderful, but it's far away from most place without private transportation. The bed was comfortable, and the linen was clean. But the couch and sofa had stay and there was mildew in the shower and there was a very humid smell in the room in general. It's really humid up there and the room didn't seem ventilated enough. There were ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom, but no AC. The staff was friendly and polite. They happily called an auto (rickshaw) when we needed transportation. The breakfast food was OK, but there wasn't much variety. We didn't have dinner there and instead walked through the tea plantations to the Chandys hotel (which was wonderful).
