「Room was good, bed comfy, shower worked well. It’s in the middle of town so there is some noise, especially on a Saturday night, but to be expected. Checking in was easy although it would have been helpful to have two room keys. The woman on the desk did not seem entirely in the same world as everyone else. 「Lovely hotel the only downside which I had not realised was breakfast started at 8 and we needed to leave at 730. The staff were lovely and provided us with cereal and milk the night before. We eat in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival and the food was excellent.」

「The hotel is very tired, but the owners are trying to tidy it up and decorate. The facilities in the bedroom were poor, nowhere to hang clothes, curtains don't close tv didn't work. Having said that, it is only rated a 2 star and I will certainly stay again both for the quirkiness and the lovely staff.」

「I had a warm welcome and my case was taken up to my room. The room was large with king sized bed. All clean, dated, but that suited the age of hotel! There was a small table with kettle and a selection of tea, coffee etc. Large en-suite with large shower. Lots of choices on breakfast menu and cooked freshly. Parking was easy. Location was excellent. 5 minutes walk to Lacock Abbey. Lacock is a very small place but very interesting.」
