This was our first trip to Dijon and we were concerned about eating out on Sunday and a holiday: New Year's Eve. Viviane immediately sent us list of recommended restaurants which included those open on Sundays and Mondays to help our search, and it worked out. She and Alexia were very helpful before and during the stay. They arranged for us to check in earlier than the published time, making a long journey from the States easier on arrival. They also let us check out a bit later, allowing us to easily walk around town for a few hours before we caught the train back to Paris.
The apartment is a ground floor unit facing a quiet street and is a perfect size for a couple spending several days. We had another couple staying with us for a portion of our stay and it was very manageable. Lots of dishes, glasses, and some basic consumables are in the kitchen. The dining room and kitchen are more accommodating to four people than other places we considered. There was occasional noise from pedestrians outside our windows and a few cars. And, the handsome original interior shutters didn't close all the way, leaving a crack of street light for those who might be sensitive to this.
That being said, it was a great place in a great location. A wonderful bakery is two doors down, and we could walk anywhere in the historic district (including the Market) in 10 minutes or less. The main grocery store in the area is a 5 minute walk with more than enough food to support any type of meal. We had problems getting taxis in town, and ended up walking on our arrival from the train station to the apartment in about 12 minutes through a charming retail district. And the Christmas decorations in the city were better than in Paris. A very nice stay in a charming city in Burgundy. We are looking forward to returning.
