A very quiet quaint out of the way place to stay. The paddle wheel motel is named as such, because they have a packet or a pedal Wheeler. Right outside the back door . A very unique place to stay.

We stayed in a very small room with a double bed, and it was perfect! Price was very reasonable and staff was tremendous! Beautiful patio area overlooking the Rock River where we enjoyed morning coffee and watched the eagles overhead, friendly guests that chatted with us. All in all, a GREAT place to stay!

I have stayed at the Paddle Wheel Inn in the past and it seems to have gone a bit downhill. Upon arrival I was met with a form I had to sign that basically laid out additional charges and fees that could be assessed. The facility has no breakfast service and the coffee in the lobby was warm, not hot. Furthermore, the recommendation an a local place to eat was for a subpar biker bar that had abysmal service and didn't seem to understand what was meant by some pink in a hamburger. Based on past stays I expected better.

Everything was clean and maintained and got the job done. Unimpressive but practical. Areas of improvement: are Front Desk Staff needs to be better at communication and being helpful, also there was a literal BAT in one room and a hornet in another. Unfortunate situations that could be improved with better maintenance of the building overall.
