Welcome to la Bendicion!

Our spacious 3,500 square foot home provides plenty of room for groups, multi-family or large single-family vacations.

Your visit to la Bendicion begins with your entrance through our stately main gate which provides security and privacy for your visit and continues up the paved driveway to our large parking area. The road association which maintains the road for the last part of the drive to the house now requires that 4X4 vehicles be used on the road.

Most rooms of the house feature cathedral wood ceilings for a true Costa Rican feel. Our air-conditioned great room contains a dining area as well as family room for relaxing indoors.

The largest gable in southern Costa Rica covers a spacious patio with an unobstructed view of the family-sized (10 X 5 meter) pool, landscaped grounds, and of course, the Pacific Ocean. Our large pool is a favorite amenity for most families.

During your stay, you will enjoy the relaxing melody of nearby rivers, one of which has a waterfall within walking distance. The house sits on almost two acres of landscaped yard featuring coconut palms and other fruit trees including lime, mango, and star fruit. You will also enjoy the beauty of bougainvillea, ginger, and orchid trees.

The private upstairs master suite includes a balcony with lovely ocean views as well as a jacuzzi room, walk-in closet, and separate large bathroom. In addition, a security door at the bottom of the stairs ensures peace of mind for any valuables in the master suite during your stay.

The three bedrooms on the lower level have doors opening directly to the pool area. (Families with small children should note this carefully as this is the only access to these rooms.) One bedroom has a private ensuite and the other two share a bathroom. All rooms contain either a walk-in closet or a wardrobe. While all bedrooms are air-conditioned, with large windows positioned to take advantage of both mountain and ocean breezes, it is rarely needed.

A well-equipped kitchen with stainless-steel appliances and granite counter tops will allow you to cook wonderful meals during your stay – cookbooks provided!! There is a gas grill available for use. If you don’t want to cook, Ojochal is considered the gourmet capital of southern Costa Rica with several well-known restaurants. The house is equipped with wireless high-speed Internet, large-screen 4K HD television, movie library, small book library and many board games. For your convenience, the house has a separate laundry room with washer and dryer.

For families with small children, we have two booster seat/high chairs and also two pack-n-plays.

When you are in the mood to explore the surrounding area, try one of the many local tours including horseback riding, snorkeling/scuba diving, zip lining, fishing, ATV tours and canyoning to name a few. Nearby Uvita with its “Whale’s Tail” formation is famous for the migrations of Humpback and Bryde’s whales eight months of the year. A sea turtle conservation site is nearby and, if you're there at the right time, it's sometimes possible to see the release of new-born sea turtles into the ocean.

Charming Dominical is a popular destination for surfing with a shopping area along the beach. Also, near Ojochal are several beaches including Pinuela and Ventanas.

The property is located in the mountains with easy access from the main coastal highway, called the Costanera, "where the mountains meet the sea". The distance from the highway, via the main public road through the village of Ojochal, is 5 km or a 10 minute drive.

Nightly rates listed are for up to eight guests. A $10.00 per night fee will be charged for each additional guest.
