The staff at the hotel are always ready to go above and beyond to help. In an environment where customer service is usually a challenge, I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of the front desk staff in particular as well as those in the bar on the first floor.

The hotel is clean, the rooms are nice, the Internet works well, bathrooms are good and front desk staff are friendly. But the hotel is seriously let down by the food. For a start there is no room service. And the streets around are dark so it's not easy just to pop out. There is a restaurant but it is very expensive. I ate there one night.. the food took more than 30 minutes to arrive and when it did come it was cold. I asked for it to be reheated. Another 15 minutes and it came back not much warmer! And to honest not that great / Thai chicken curry but the chicken was very gristly. For $30 plus service plus drinks, and that was one of the cheapest things on the menu. So please shape up the catering if you want me back!!

It was very nice to stay in this hotel, I was feeling so safe and relaxed during my stay. The staff was so nice, kind and helpful, always smiling. The rooms were very clean and tidy, maintenance was perfect. The staff in the poll bar-restaurant was amazing. I really want to stay in this hotel again.

I would have given this a 10/10. However the suite next to mine had guests singing from 4-6am (I could hear every single word). No toothbrushes provided by housecleaning. You’ll have to request toothbrushes daily from reception (who are always very kind to provide you with those).

This is THE BEST PLACE in Cameroon. Star Land Douala and Yaoundé. Booked Yaounde after my experience in Douala. AMAZING. For a hotel not affiliated to a “world brand”, it is just EXCEPTIONAL. Means you can be local and BEAT GLOBAL BRANDS. I can NEVER go somewhere else in Cameroon. My family loved the place even more than me. Wait till you try their PILLOWS and great organic food. My gosh. Just go. The closest experience I had was in Australia and Thailand. Amazing staff. Thank you Star Land. Worth my time and money. Looking forward to my next trip Cheers

Great but..

Relatively great stay. Hotel is new. Checkin was smooth and staff at the reception desk are always helpful. Only downside is..housekeeping and the mini bar lady. This lady (not house cleaning) knocked on 3 separate days to check the mini bar of my room. Each time she only knocked ONCE, and forced herself into the room. I complained twice about this. I believe the hotel should ask Housekeeping to check the mini bar everyday while cleaning. Rather than have separate staff come in to check the mini bar unannounced. Good points: location is 10/10 Restaurants on the premises are 10/10

Arrived late. Person behind the desk wanted to charge me a late fee lol. Never heard of a late fee for checking in a midnight on a prepaid reservation. Then, they added tax to my prepaid Expedia purchase. Never a smile. I think they took advantage of me. I’ll never return again.
