Best Western Derby Inn

"Property was great, clean, good breakfast, and friendly staff!"
Chanticleer Inn
8/10 Good
"As we were staying with our dog we were very pleased with the location. It was a very quiet wooded area which we loved but yet only 5 minutes to town. We had a wonderful dinner at the lodge. As an added bonus was Dollar Lake, which is not the lake you see next to the lodge. It was a short jaunt across from the main lodge where we enjoyed walking our dog. It is private and only available to those staying at Chanticleer Inn. The beach was sandy and the water was clear. A neat little gem. We would definitely stay there again."

Rustic Cabin Steps From The Water On Star Lake
8/10 Good
"My family had a decent stay at Bear Cottage. We were definitely surprised by the lack of wifi, which the property manager confirmed would be removed from the listing to avoid future confusion. I definitely would not have booked this place at this price had I known there would be no wifi. We also saw a TV in the listing that was not there, just an old radio in its place that barely got reception. We have a 6 year old, so 7 days without any sort of outside contact or stimulation was a bit difficult. We managed by visiting my in laws at their camp site down the road (where oddly, we got great reception). We are big Star Lake fans and always appreciate a chance to get out to the Northwoods. We loved the history and charm behind the cottage, and made some great memories there. Thanks for sharing it with us!"

Yellow Birch Lodge - Private Vacation Rental Home
10/10 Excellent
"Yellow Birch Lodge in Eagle River Wi, and Mark and Christine Simonides exceeded all of our expectations! We booked as part of a combined Bachelor/Bachelorette weekend for our daughter and future son-in law, in total we had 22 people there (and 9 or 10 vehicles) and there was more than enough room for all of us! Whether it is for host communication, living, or playing, everything you need is right here! From the very beginning the process with the Simonides’ was a joy and they were even able to accommodate an earlier check in and check out for us. Everything went smoothly from check in to checkout, and any questions we had could be answered via the “survival” packet we received and that was left at the house. This house truly has it all, so defiantly pack light. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready to go, and if not found in the cabinets it can be found in the pantry. The two refrigerators, phone chargers throughout and laundry are a true asset as well. You will easily be supplied with enough paper products to get you through at least 4 days with 22 people! The furniture is nice and sturdy and plus size/ tall guests can feel comfortable and safe to sit.Never once did anyone fight boredom. The amount of games both inside and out allow for many fun memories to be made! Whether sitting by the fire pit, on a paddle board or the porch fun and relaxation were truly and purely experienced. We hope to be able to book again sometime!"
