We didn't have a car, and the hotel is right on the bus route for easy access to downtown and the airport. It's also a short walk to Dublin Bay. The area is near the Embassies and is safe and clean. As for the room, the bedroom was clean and efficient, with nice windows that open 2 ways. However, the bathroom left a lot to be desired, as the cold water barely ran, and the shower had no curtain or water pressure.

we liked the location. it was close to several restaurants. we did not like the following . 1The bathroom had no towel racks .... just a little clip . 2. the hot water in th shower was extremely hard to control . One degree of turn changed it from cold to scalding . 3. On Sunday night there were a lot of loud people in hallway at midnight . 4. The front door area looked shabby . 5 minutes of work with a paint brush would make a big difference 5. when I got up in the morning the front door lock was not locked . I locked it ,pulled it shut behind me ,went out to my car and then could not get back in. the green light flashed , there was a click but lock did not work.Luckily our room was on ground floor so I knocked on window.

Lage ist Prima.Bus und Dart sind gut zu erreichen.Das Meer, ein Supermarkt und paar Pubs sind nur paar Gehminuten entfernt. Zimmer war mit Fernsehen, Fön, Bügeleisen Kühlschrank,Wasserkocher, Tassen,Löffel,Zucker,Pulverkaffee und Tee und Kondensmilch ausgestattet.Bei der Anreise gab es sogar 1 Flasche Wasser. Etwas schade war, dass es im Bad keine Möglichkeit gab Badetasche abzustellen(kein Tisch/Schränkchen oder so) Wasserdruck war kaum vorhanden, was das duschen schwierig machte.(auch wenn die Toilette kurz nacheinander benutzt wurde) Waren 4 Tage .Zimmer wurde in dieser Zeit nicht gereinigt, wegen Corona.Das war aber vorher bekannt und deshalb auch ok für uns. Anmeldung an der Rezeption freundlich obwohl wir etwas früher da waren als gedacht. Alles in allem ein schöner Aufenthalt für ein paar Tage um Dublin und Umgebung zu besuchen.

Haunted?

It was a nice and relaxing overnight stay. We did hear some random noises in the middle of the night and now think the place is haunted. Too bad we didn’t take any pics or recordings since we were so tired.

Disappointing stay

No soundproofing at all and smell of damp. Carpet needs replaced and walls repainted you would have thought that this could have been done during lockdown. Shower took for ever to heat up. In positive the bed was comfy and sheets clean. I have stayed in other places at the same cost and these were far superior. Wont be staying

Not worth it

Checked in around 12am after a long fight, wasnt greeted by the night receptionist.. After finally getting everything sorted I was told the wifi was down for the night (this was for the full weekend stay) shower near impossible to work never mind the non draining sink, room like a sauna, bed had what felt like a plank of wood running up it. Didn't receive nor have a good experience

Our stay was great, staff were really helpful, very close to the RDS, room was warm, clean, cosy and comfortable, plenty of tea and biscuits supplied in the room, the only downfalls were that the shower wasn’t very hot and there was very low pressure from it and the parking was quite limited at the location (we were told that they rent out the car park to people going to the RDS, but we would have liked to think that they would prioritise the guests as we had very limited parking) , but overall it was fab, ideal place to stay when in Dublin

Very convenient

98 Merrion Road was good value and very convenient. It is perfect for visiting The RDS, The Aviva or the embassies in the Ballsbridge area. I would highly recommend it.

Lovely authentic townhouse, located just on the outskirts of the city, so a great jump off point for the 3 Arena and local museums. Base unit of toilet was leaking water onto floor after every flush and had spread across the bathroom floor during the night. Good parking and friendly staff. Clean, warm room aside. Never used television. Vending machine was okay if you liked only Haribo or Snickers.

Checked in at 5pm and the hotel must have been busy. Rooms weren't ready, there were garbage bags throughout the halls and garbage to be collected. Had to step over piles of dirty laundry and the vacuum cleaner in the halls. The king or queen bed was just two twins pushed together and very uncomfortable. The woman who checked us in was kind and helpful and perhaps embarrassed.
