I stayed at this hotel recently and found it to be a bit of a mixed experience. On the positive side, the location is excellent—right in the centre (20 mins walk to Temple Bar) and within easy walking distance of plenty of shops, which made getting around very convenient.
However, the hotel itself feels quite outdated, with a basic design that could definitely use some updating including the outside. The room was acceptable at first glance, but unfortunately, it wasn’t as clean as it should have been. After check-in, I noticed a previous guest’s socks still in the room, which was disappointing given that it had supposedly been cleaned before my arrival.
In terms of amenities, the room was a good size for two people. There were tea or coffee facilities, and an iron provided and the bathroom was clean and well-maintained.
One huge downside is the noise. If you’re staying on a Friday or Saturday, don’t expect to sleep before 2am. There’s a rock club directly underneath (I was in room 107), and the live music is extremely loud—so much so that it genuinely felt like being on stage with the band. If you value your sleep, I would strongly recommend avoiding rooms on the first floor. However, if you’re planning to stay out late anyway, it may not be an issue.
Overall, this hotel works for its location, but falls short on cleanliness, comfort, and noise control.
