"Good breakfast and restaurant.
Well located. Teenagers partying during the weekend (sport tournament) we had one bad night out of 4. Good Time in général."
"Recently refurbished and looking great. The reception staff on check were very professional and helpful. The room was in excellent condition and very clean.
The bar/restaurant was very busy on Sunday early evening and was a bit confusing as to how to order food. When it came the food was fresh, tasty and well prepared.
The breakfast was a bit odd, eaten in the restaurant and had to wait quite a few minutes before a member of staff arrived to book us in. However, the buffet was in an adjoining small room. The selection was fine but the room would be difficult to navigate if there were more than a few customers in at the same time.
Receptionist on check out was talking to another member of staff and didn’t bother to ask if everything was okay with our stay.
However, it’s a lovely, clean well located hotel and would definitely stay again."
"Really good central location and easy to access parking.
Staff were friendly and attentive. We made use of the pool which was clean and quiet at the time we used it.
We were upgraded to the presidential suite on arrival which was spacious and had a great view of the river.
There was some noise throughout the night from the main road which runs alongside the hotel, I would imagine this gets less on the higher up floors and is an unavoidable factor of staying in a central location,"
"Pros:
The woman who helped us gather our keys after 6 hours of traveling.
Breakfast was pretty good and varied. Lots of protein and carb options plus fresh pancakes.
Location is central and Tesco’s is nearby.
Daily housekeeping. Hard to find that in most hotels these days.
Spacious rooms and excellent blackout curtains.
Cons:
Asked every time we went to the front desk if we were checking out. That got tiring. We were there for 3 nights but everyone kept thinking we were only staying for one. I don’t expect them to remember the details of all the guests but it got to the point where the key cards stopped working because they assumed we checked out.
Staff a bit hit or miss. Some were lovely, some kept us waiting for ages but didn’t apologize or preferred to chat with other staff. I’ve been to hundreds of hotels. Basic hospitality is about the customer in front of you and dealing with the situation then and there.
Room could’ve used a safe, mini fridge and/or a microwave for the space.
Carpets and curtains in room could use a good cleaning. Lots of mystery stains.
No facial tissues or shampoo in the bathroom, which was unusual."
"The rooms are spotless, the maid comes in daily, all the amenities are first class, there is a walk around the golf course, the food is great value, all the staff we encountered are extremely friendly and they go out of there way to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Portrush is 14 miles away.
This is our second visit we will definitely be back"
"We stayed at Roe Valley Resort for a weekend with our 3 and 4-year-old children and overall were very impressed.
Our family suite was extremely spacious and gave us plenty of room to relax. While some areas of the hotel are currently undergoing maintenance, the hotel itself is lovely and the grounds are beautiful.
The facilities for children were excellent and our girls absolutely loved their stay. The pool was a particular highlight, especially as the shallow area was suitable for our 4-year-old to comfortably stand in. There were lots of activities available for families, which made for a great weekend away.
The main disappointment was dining. It seems essential to book restaurants well in advance. We managed to get a late dinner slot on Friday evening after arriving, but were unable to get a table in the hotel on Saturday night. We ended up ordering room service, which arrived more like a takeaway than hotel dining, served in disposable packaging rather than on plates.
We were also disappointed that the children's water jet ski activity was completely sold out, and the pool waterslide closed intermittently whenever the lifeguard took breaks.
Despite these issues, we had a very enjoyable stay and the children had a fantastic time. With a little more capacity around dining and activities, the experience would have been even better."
