Cowal & Bute offer you the most populated area of lochs, walkways, spectacular scenery, botanic gardens, castles and wildlife in Scotland and because it is off the beaten tourist track, a very peaceful relaxing place to stay. The very best of Scotland in miniature and packed into an area of only 35 x 25 miles and all within 60 minutes of your holiday Log cabin. This region offers you a wide range of sporting activities including golf, fishing, various pleasure cruises, mountain-biking, cycling, organised horse riding, sailing and other water-based sports. For the walker choose from Seaside / Loch side trails to Woodland forest trails through what is accepted as the most beautiful scenic area of Scotland, notably Pucks Glen, Glenbranter and the magnificent world renowned Benmore Botanic Gardens.

Holiday at lovh eck retreat
We have just had a fantastic stay at this beautiful little cabin right opposite Lovh Eck. The cabin itself was really cosy and very clean on arrival. The views were simply breathtaking and we enjoyed sitting out on the decking when the weather permitted us to! The cabin would however benefit from a small canopy to sit under when it is raining as we noticed several others had this feature. Good shower and loved the jacuzzi bath. Midges were abit of a pest due to being so close to the Loch but the cabin has a midge lamp and a fan which helped keep them away. There is a delightful pub about 200 yards from the site which has recently been renovated and we visited several times and really enjoyed. All in all a really lovely stay and one we will remember. Hope to return some time next year

Fantastic Location
We have had a fantastic week at Whistlefield Lodges. The highlight of our week as been Pucks Glen and Benmore Botanical Gardens. However we have also enjoyed spending time in Dunoon and going to the Kirn Gala. We will definitely be back again as there is still so much we could do. On our next visit we will definitely be visiting Hollow Mountain. The lodge was in a beautiful location and very peaceful. The week has gone too fast!

Amazing views. Lovely Log Cabin which you can relax in and make your home for the week.

Unser Abenteuer -Urlaub am Loch Eck
Die Einrichtung war leider sehr veraltet und schlecht gereinigt. Und es wäre nett gewesen uns im Vorhinein zu Informieren, das man eine Münze einwerfen muß um Strom zu erhalten. Die Dusche war kaputt und das Geschirr sehr schmutzig und im Waschbecken in der Küche waren noch die Essensreste der Vorgänger. Eines Morgens kroch eine fette Nacktschnecke am Waschbeckenrand. Wir reisen sehr viel, aber so etwas haben wir noch nie erlebt. Aber trotz Allem Miss Elsbeth war sehr freundlich und hilfsbreit. Herzlichen Dank! Manuela Kern

Cosy cottage with a view on loch eck.
The cottage had everything we needed. It was just big enough, well-equipped in the kitchen and the bathroom (sauna & jacuzzi!) and had good beds. The veranda was nice and sunny (well.. Sometimes.. It is Scotland) but unfortunately the midges prevented us from sitting outside. The area is wonderful with lots to do and see. Would definitely book again!
