2/10 Terrible

"The only reason I reserved a room at this hotel was due to the pool amenities. Unfortunately the pool was filthy - unfortunately for me I didn’t notice this until after I got into the pool. The tiles of the pool interior were green and black with filth and the water felt disgusting. I got out and felt the need to shower right away in order to get rid of the filth that was in my skin and hair at that point. In the room I noticed that there were streaks of a mystery white fluid on the sides of the bedside table between the two beds which was disgusting. We were on the main floor and there were other guests running up and down the hallways yelling and screaming at all hours of the night yet staff permitted it (we were that close to the lobby and staff desks that they obviously heard but did nothing). I also felt very unsafe in the room because the door lock and deadbolt were loose and showed obviously signs of having been kicked in before. At night I could see the light from the hallway shining into the room because of the severe gapping between the damaged door and the doorframe. There was a hotel employee working the breakfast area on our last day there who was miserable and mumbling under her breath and being rude to other guests, this made them and myself uncomfortable."

"Rooms are generally clean. Roof blew off of the building my room was in during a storm. Staff said I was safe to stay despite the situation. Building inspectors later arrived and ordered evacuation of the building. Debris was strewn all over the parking lot with metal, wood, and heavy roofing rubber while it was still breezy. Ended up leaving in the middle of the stay for safety reasons."

"Excellent stay, from the time we walked in. My husband and I went to Andover for a wedding. One of our daughters was hoping to meet us there, work permitting, so I booked a room with a queen bed and a sleep sofa with a 3rd party (I travel a lot and have status with it). Our daughter did join us. Vik is the person who checked us in. He was friendly, funny and informed us we had booked a wheelchair accessible room. I explained to him it was the only room online available with an extra bed. He jokingly scolded me and and said he would not let our daughter sleep on a sofa and changed our reservation to a double queen bed room. This was the start of a great stay, the room was spacious, clean, the beds comfortable, and my husband went down and enjoyed the breakfast. We will definitely stay there again if in Andover, and hope Vik has a long and wonderful career with Double Tree, he is such an asset to the company, genuine, friendly, efficient, and definitely embodying the meaning of hospitality!"
