Family retreat 2023

This was a great time. The house was great, very spacious and very accommodating. Being separate from the other cabins was nice too, more secluded. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful cabin

This is a very spacious and beautiful cabin. It had everything you could possibly need from silverware to dishes, coffee pot, toaster, utensils... EVERYTHING. It was very clean and just beautiful. We were all so very pleased!

Nice place to reconnect with family. Favorite part for me was sitting on the porch watching the deer. It should be noted that there are absolutely no spices….not even salt and pepper. Just a warning to pack accordingly

Perfect location

Had a great weekend stay at the Cabin. The location was perfect being so close to the Tawas State Park, as well as a short drive to town if anything was forgotten. We will return.

Great location

Home was very nice. However, sheets were not on beds when we arrived and we had to strip beds, vacuum and clean the house before we left as per check out instructions. This should be done by home owners not guests. Otherwise, great place to stay.

Great time!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Oak cabin. The Cabin layout was great and had everything we needed. It was quiet and we liked being separated from the other cabins. We didn’t use the beach across the street, we liked the state park beach just a quick ride down the street. We rented a pontoon boat from Jerry’s Marina next door and had a great time out on the bay. There were lots of shallow areas to anchor and hang out and swim. Overall a great location and great experience. We will definitely be back

Scenic but

The house and surroundings were beautiful. Beach wasn’t as nice as I expected. Towels are not provided during off season months. You also have to sweep and clean all messes up before you leave. Beds are unmade when you arrive and you have to strip them before you leave. The upstairs bedroom has the king bed but only one nightstand and no headboard. Also the bed frame didn’t seem sturdy. The upstairs bedroom does not have a curtain on the window. There was a bucket on the upstairs fireplace but no explanation as to why? The upstairs Jacuzzi had hair in it. We had to clean it before we could use it. The refrigerator was not clean. The downstairs shower had a rusty shower caddy. Shed in the back yard was full of broken stuff.

Beautiful location, nice place

The Oaks is a fine, spacious "cabin" with a rustic look and surprisingly modern finishes. The decor is a bit on the spartan side but has a luxurious feel with hardwood flooring and lots of knotty pine paneling. Our host was very responsive and took care of our issues promptly. The layout is a nice mixture of group and private spaces. The unit is across the street from the main group of cabins on a large lot so there is lots of privacy.
