We were very impressed with this place! The room was very spacious and thr bed so comfortable! We loved our room. Gifford House had their own attraction booklet that they took the time to put together to offer original choices. We were very grateful for the Scottish treats left for us. Any time I had questions, the staff were prompt to reply and help. Thank you again Gifford team! We hope to see you again soon!

We really enjoyed our stay here; clean, quiet, beautiful decor, beds were comfortable. Water pressure out of the shower was great! The decor was elegant but unique and not overdone. Location was great, just enough outside of city center to be quiet. Check in process was smooth and easy; the host was so available and so quick to respond with any questions! If I come back to Edinburgh, I’d definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom had been redone at some point and was nice. There was a slight problem with our room before we got there, but the staff had it all worked out before we arrived. It was also right on the bus route which was convenient.

It was not city center. It took us over 45 minutes to get our room key. As it was after 10:00 pm & they had no on-site staff. We checked in prior to arrival but the system couldn't find us. I called the after hours number but they didn't call me back until almost an hour later. The system finally recognized our reservation & we were able to get room keys. Shower was awful either too hot or cold. No amenities.

Very clean, spacious room set in a grand home on the outskirts of the city. Very convenient to the local bus stop. As long as you are comfortable with technology it’s a great place to stay - no staff on site, so you check in on the iPad in the foyer and create your own room key.

Giffordhouse biedt schone en ruime kamers. Ligt dichtbij een bushalte waarmee je binnen 10 min in de oude stad staat. Het is een selfservice guesthouse maar met een gemakkelijk bediening en snelle antwoorden per whatsapp.

This is a lovely hotel, well situated and very clean and well maintained. I was expecting a cosy room and was not disappointed. The room I had had a flight of stairs from the entrance door to the bedroom which were a bit steep and could be a struggle for some, so if that was a problem I’d ask about it when booking. The automated check in was very smooth. Parking is relatively easy in the street at weekends but more limited at other times.

Room and bathroom were very clean. One staff member was there when we checked in. He was helpful and friendly. Location was good but parking is limited around the building. We stayed in the smaller room which was a tight fit for 2 people and luggage. We would stay again but get a bigger room.

Muy bien todo… Lo único es que no se si no lo leí antes o no lo aclaran. El servicio de limpieza a las habitaciones cada 2 días, esto no lo sabía. Entonces nosotros estuvimos solo 2 noches y no tuvimos servicio. Todo lo demás! Muy bien! Vuelvo a llegar ahí feliz!

The hotel was in a good location, parking available over the weekend outside the hotel so easy to access (restrictions midweek). The room was spacious, clean and cutely decorated. Not a criticism but just a recommendation: still water available as opposed to sparkling. Another mirror in the room (preferably full length) as there were 4 of us in the room. Would definitely recommend to others and would consider coming back. Despite it being a self check in service, the process was straightforward and we had no issues.
