I had a very disappointing experience at Tru by Hilton in Edmonton. As a Hilton member, I expected better service and amenities, but this location completely missed the mark.
First off, the pool was freezing cold completely unusable. To make matters worse, they advertise a hot tub that simply doesn’t exist. False advertising at its finest. The front desk staff were unhelpful and seemed clueless about basic hospitality. It felt like they were either poorly trained or just didn’t care.
Housekeeping is only done at check-in and check-out. So if you're staying more than a night, don't expect fresh towels, a cleaned room, or even trash pickup unless you specifically request it something they don’t make clear upfront.
Breakfast was another letdown. It’s basically just a cereal bar and a few sad pancakes that taste like cardboard. Not what you'd expect from a hotel that tries to present itself as modern and guest-focused.
Overall, it feels like this place is cutting every corner it can while still charging you full price. Hilton should really reconsider putting their name on properties like this.
