Beautiful Cabin and Setting, Private Yet Close to Everything
This rustic cabin is beautiful and comfortable, with gorgeous views of the lake. It has everything you need, right down to salt and pepper, travel-size soap / shampoo etc. Lots of games and books, plus good Wifi and tv (including over the air tv and Hulu access if you have a subscription). We loved the fireplace inside and the firepit outside (you need to provide your own wood but it's for sale at multiple places nearby). It's so quiet, it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere! But Otis General store is right up the road and Ellsworth is minutes away. Easy access to Acadia and other area sights. Beds are comfortable and baseboard heaters work great. We hope to visit again.

Cozy cabin …
The house was cleaned okay, but the porch including the table wasn't cleaned, and there were several piles of dog poop left everywhere in the yard by the previous renters. When I texted Vacasa about it, all they did was apologize - I even offered to pick it up myself if they provided a shovel, but one wasn't provided. So we had "land mines" to watch for and avoid while in the yard. The house was cozy, but access to the water is down an uneven set of stone steps, some of them pretty steep. Contacted Vacasa several times with several questions prior to our stay, including beach access details and whether the property had kayaks as mentioned in property description. They were vague on their beach access answers; they specified kayaks were indeed available, but when we got there, none were - we searched everywhere on the property. A Vacasa representative came over to search for himself, confirmed my findings (this would have been a good time to provide a shovel for the "land mines"), then apologized for there not being any kayaks ... never heard anything about it afterwards, even though the representative stated that a manager named Caitlyn (sp?) would contact me the following day to remedy the situation. The description states "excellent Wi-Fi" - not true; it was spotty at best, with more buffering than a good connection.

Lake house stay
Our time in Maine was great at this cute little cabin. We loved our time on the lake (in canoe) & its proximity to most activities. We enjoyed our nights on the screened in porch & days in Acadia/Bar Harbor. We stayed for five full days and we’re disappointed to arrive and find out they had removed the dock and didn’t empty the trash bins before our arrival.
