"The property has so much potential since it offers a vary of activities but there was no sense of direction. We found ourselves walking aimlessly, would be great to have signs around. Staffing was extremely nice and helpful! Breakfast was delicious and the scenery was breathtaking. The Grotto pool was pretty and intimate, very unique. "

"Although this is an older hotel, it was immaculate in every way. From the moment we walked in, the staff was amazing, very helpful and very courteous. The property was clean, very comfortable beds/pillows and the breakfast offerings were by far the best of any hotel we have stayed at in Fredericksburg! I got a really good price on Expedia so, because we have talked about staying at the Inn in Barron's Creek often, decided to try it and am so glad we did. Five stars all the way."
"Staff was very friendly. Property is well maintained. Room with king bed was roomy. The breakfast had very good variety. The lady overseeing the breakfast was attentive and really took pride in her job.
The only negative is we could hear the upstairs guest moving around at times. "
Private Luxury, Views, Nature, German History And Texas Hospitality!
10/10 Excellent
"Lynn and Jerry's ADORABLE home exceeded any expectations we had. From the minute you drive up, you are greeted by hundreds of butterflies and Texas flowers. Entering the cottage, the unique decor which is more than comfortable makes you feel right at home. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would ever need, bathroom is large with fluffy towels and bathrobes. The king size bedroom looks out over the front of the cottage with a view of flowers and butterflies. Nice sized comfortable living room with a TV and beautiful fireplace with a whimsical mantel. Our absolute FAVORITE part of the this house was the covered back porch. In the hot Texas summer the breeze and ceiling fan kept us comfortable. Completely private, we enjoyed our mornings drinking coffee and watching nature wake up. So many hummingbirds came to feed, along with many native birds and of course the deer who walk right up to the fence, ready for their deer corn which is provided by your hosts. The evenings are the best on the porch. We enjoyed a bottle of local Texas wine watching the fireflies and just taking a deep breath. The town offers a lot to do, but believe me, we would have rather stayed in the house the whole time. Lynn and Jerry are terrific hosts. They communicate quickly, have great suggestions and make you feel right at home. This is Texas hospitality at it's finest. We're already planning our next trip!"
"This place was absolutely amazing! We drank cheap booze and listened to live music in the saloon! Ate a delicious Breakfast and Dinner at the restaurant! Enjoyed a really cool star party with the professional astronomy and telescope! Swam in the grotto pool! Relaxed in our jacuzzi tub!! It was a really good experience!
Two minor problems. 1) everything was a little hard to find and the maps provided weren't very helpful at all... but we managed. 2) I think the bed in the DaVinci suite was broken. It had a massive divot in the left side of the bed which made sleep difficult and the AC vent was blowing DIRECTLY on me all night. So my choices were a) be hot, or b) be freezing with a sore throat.
I mean, a better map, a new mattress, and relocate it out of the direct vent of the AC and you would have the most perfect place on earth!
It was charming! Rustic! Very old world and historic looking! Great food! Great service! Great amenities! Great location! Just an absolute Gem!! Me and my wife are 100% comming back as soon as we can!! I cannot stress enough how super cool this place was!"
"The place is lovely, the breakfast delicious, the bed was comfortable, the spa was great, and all was very clean. We enjoyed time on our own front porch. The property was beautiful . My one complaint was that the soaps and shampoo were very heavily spearmint scented which was a lot of spearmint after a bit. "
