Very nice old place. The food was excellent with a good breakfast buffet. The staff was professional and helpful. Parking is available but we came by train. The stop is about 100 meters from the hotel. The restaurant food is expensive but worth it.

If you want to eat dinner at the hotel you have to make reservations way ahead of time. Being a hotel guest doesn't necessarily give you access to the restaurant, had to go elsewhere each night. Staff is not friendly

A night away from kids
The food was fabulous. The staff were friendly and attentive. The swimming pool was very calming and relaxing. Sadly, due to the fire the sauna was still closed. Was still able to have a very nice massage, but selections are very limited at this time. I had a double business room. It was comfortable but pretty basic. It was very clean. Biggest downside was the bed. I know this is considered an upscale, German style hotel but the bed was just 2 single beds pushed together. And the beds had hard wooden frames so in the middle there was a large separation with wooded framing. I would have at least expected a modern queen sized mattress in this upscale hotel. Also the bathroom door hit the toilet and the bathroom was very small. Non of this was a problem for my stay alone, but sharing with another would definitely have been less comfortable.

I had the Sky suite and the shower was not working. For the price of that room I at least expect the shower to work. When told the reception by check out she said she can't do anything but will management know. I have not received anything yet.

The stay was good except, the internet signal was very weak in the room. Only German TV, so nothing to watch at night if you don't understand German.

Good old fashioned hotel
This is five star hotel and the service fully attains each and all of five stars. The restaurant and the bar are interesting and worthwhile a visit. The room was reasonably small (probably single) and the bed was the smallest I've seen in comparable hotels. Unfortunately room soundproofing leaves a lot of space for improvement because it was difficult to sleep after the very first guests got out of their rooms.

Luxury at a price
Super spot in centre and great luxury with five star service and quality - but beware the extras though.... My room was only a single bed which I was a little disappointed in but that was my fault for not checking when I booked. Very nice restaurant, plus even a "smoking" bar inside the hotel with the waft of cigars and the smell of money. A drink came with five star nuts and coffee came with a petit four. In the restaurant even though I only ordered a main course I also got a selection of breads and "spreads" - Schnitzel was amazing. Beware of extras though - parking added €15 for one night and breakfast which was nice added another nearly €30. As I only had a couple of cups of coffee and a roll with some salami I felt I hadn't fully used my moneys worth but again that was my fault not the hotels.

Great locations! Room was very clean. Nice touch on the slippers and robe. Complimentary breakfast was great. Was a little disappointed with the shower towels. They were a little too rough, like sandpaper! Overall though I enjoyed this hotel and would recommend it.

When in Baden one must go.
Our "go to" destination in the Baden region for past 35 years. While footprint has grown over the years the quality of service and high level of comfort remains the same. And the food....!

Excellent hotel
The hotel is very good and comfortable. The service is excellent. The staff is helpful. Our room was nice, big and well equipped. Ettlingen, in which the hotel is located, is a nice town with shops and restaurants. The hotel's restaurant is excellent. Breakfast is very rich and good. I'll sure stay at the hotel in my next business trip to Karlsruhe.

Great hotel let down by smoking bar smoke
Always a great place to stay but the continual smell of cigarette smoke from the smoking bar next to the reception is an unpleasant experience. Easily remedied by adding a door.

Great hotel but some rooms are smokey.
The Erbprinz has very comfortable rooms and a very nice restaurant. The downside was that they have a smoking lounge at the front of the hotel and in the winter the smoke from there is blown all the way to the back of the hotel and up the tower. So at night my room on the fifth floor of the tower started to smell like smoke and I had to open the windows to deal with the smell. The front desk said that they have other rooms in a different section of the hotel that didn't have this problem.

What a gem!
What a great hotel, its a little out of the centre but when I've stayed in the past I used the hotels restaurant and bar so no issue. Staff friendly and went out of their way to assist.

we got a junior suite, the room is nice, we are a family of three and the room plus an extra bed is comfortable. the only bad part is the big bed, the mattress seems to be sinking into the bed frame..i think the bed frame is old since all their furniture is sort of antique. other than that the room is satisfying. hotel staff is very helpful, i once called and asked for some bread in the middle of the night and they brought it up along with butter. their service car is nice too , very reasonable price for a luxury car.

Great hotel. Chose it because convenience through our road trip and especially given it had the best indoor pool we could find. Pool was great, room was great, staff was great. Only caveats of the place: the hotel advertises a great restaurant; we had lunch and dinner in it and we were not impressed (Ok, not great, particularly for the price).

Erbprinz - Amazing Spa Experience
Happy New Year! I want to sent you a note to say THANK YOU for a wonderful experience at your hotel. My husband and I checked in on December 30 for a one night stay. From the moment we arrived the customer service we received was exceptional - above and beyond our expectations. Your staff was polite, professional and paid close attention to every detail. They were very conscientious to make sure we knew our way around inside and outside the hotel including finding the parking lot and that our room met our standards. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner at the restaurant Sybille. The food was delicious with generous portions and the customer service was top notch. This was a delightful gourmet meal in a relaxing environment. The spa was an amazing experience for us. We had one hour massages on Saturday morning. A very relaxing way to enjoy the final day of 2011! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of your beautiful infinity pool and the areas for relaxing around the pool. The steam room, saunas and whirl tubs just further enhanced our relaxing spa experience. We appreciated your attention to detail with blankets on the lounge chairs, soap/shampoo in the shower area, lots of towels and an employee readily available for assistance. Loved having bathrobes and slippers in our room too. Your hotel and spa facilities were immaculately clean and well maintained. A sincerely thank you to everyone for your wonderful English! This was a memorable trip for us and we definitely look forward to returning to your hotel in 2012.

Das Hotel hat seinen ganz eigenen Charme. Entweder man mag dieses historische Ambiente oder man mag es eben nicht. Der neue Wellnessbereich ist echt schön. Essen ist von guter Qualität. Mit kleinen Kindern ist es aufgrund der alten Bausubstanz etwas schwierig wegen der vielen Treppen. Die Lage des Hotels an der wunderschönen Altstadt von Ettlingen und an der S-Bahn- Haltestelle nach Karlsruhe ist perfekt.
