Great stay with our doggo

Shell cottage was the perfect spot to stay while visiting Eureka. It was nice to be close to easy walking trails and have so much gated space for the dog. The house was really comfortable and had everything we needed during our visit! Would love to come back and take advantage of the dock area.

Shell Cottage is a quiet place to relax.The cottage is well furnished and supplied. The yard is completely fenced and it's a short walk to a dog friendly beach on the bay.

it was perfect for me and my sister and my two fur babies

the house is perfectly located. You can get a Uber if you decide to go somewhere in town or in my case visit your college student and still have a nice safe place for you your family and your fur babies. I definitely will be back.

Cute little cottae on the water!!

Loved the shell cottage! Everything we needed for a weekend exploring Eureka and the area. Fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Everything went great - even had time to enjoy one of the jigsaw puzzles a previous guest had left behind!

I didn't want to leave

From the moment I walked in there was soft music playing. It is a beautiful, clean, beautifully decorated ,well kept home. The neighborhood is so quiet. I didn’t hear a siren the whole time I was there, heard voices maybe a couple times and a dog bark once it’s so peaceful so quiet. Clean……,::everyone I talk to was more than helpful above and beyond. I want to live here forever.

We enjoyed the fenced yard for our dog. There is not much in the way of amenities on the bay where the cottage is located. Good dog walks make up for the lack though.

I injured my knee the evening before I was to drive up to King Salmon, so was unable to enjoy Shell Cottage, and too late for any refund! I had stayed previously however, and it was lovely; hence my desire to return.

Property was great. Got emails from the property management company every single day asking me to review until I finally posted a review. Way too much email from that company. Almost like they were desperate.

Perfect home base for a dogventure with my best friend

I brought my husky up from LA to experience the Redwoods. We had a blast and were so comfy every night in this lovely little house. The yard is fully enclosed with good tall fences so I felt confident leaving the door open while we were at home so she could lay in the sun. The kitchen was fully equipped and we even enjoyed veggie burgers on the propane grill out back. Easy street parking for single vehicle directly in front of home. The neighborhood was quiet and pleasant, including the RV park across the way. Morning and evening walks to the beach were more than welcomed by my canine companion. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout the home. I highly recommend this vacation home .

Shell Cottage love

This little cottage was perfect for us. It had a fenced in space for our little girl both front and back. It’s decorated with plants and foliage very nicely. The only negative we have is that the couch is pretty stained up, but clean. We enjoyed our stay and if ever in the area will stay there again. Felt very safe and even tho Interesting neighbors, everything and everyone was friendly and welcoming.

Didn’t want to leave !!

What a wonderful trip we had.. More than wonderful really. We typically just stay with our grandparents, but decided to treat ourselves, and it was definitely a treat!! Best location, just outside of Eureka. We were going between Ferndale and Eureka to visit friends and family so we couldn’t ask for a better location! Walked to the beach multiple times. Can’t beat the beach at King Salmon! Neighbors were so great! It was quite and felt very safe! Loved the privacy provided by the fully fenced property. The dock was amazing for dropping the kayaks in and taking a cruise! We also brought our boat and it was so nice to just hop in the boat and head out fishing multiple times a day! The home was in excellent condition!! Very clean, all the furniture was very comfortable, fast internet, cable tv in the living room, great size for two people! We felt at home here which is so important! We will 100% be back next year! Ant&Ash

Great get away for 1-2 + dog

Nice small house to explore the Eureka area. Away from the city - very quiet - but close enough. Fully fenced front and back yards connected by a narrow passage is great for a small dog. Great forrest walks within 30 mins - Arcata Comminoty forrest was a daily treat. Dock in back is fun to look at critters in the water (flashlight at night attracts strange stuff). Water is too brackish to launch (for me). Lots of great restaurants in Eureka and even in/around King Salmon. Great seafood, Mexican, Italian. Had an issue with initial housekeeping but our local person addressed it nicely (previous guests fault). Just booked this same house for 2 months out. Not a lot of lodging options for the area - this is better than anything else we've tried.

A Quiet Cottage by the Bay

A great place to relax and play with the dog. The cottage is comfortable, quiet, and well supplied. The yard is fully fenced and there is a gas barbeque on the back patio. Just a short walk to a dog friendly beach on the bay.

Clean and Comfortable

This house is fantastic! It is small, but perfectly sized for a great stay and has everything you need, including a Jacuzzi tub. The outside area in both the front and back are spacious and private, with access to a Dock. Home was clean and well cared for. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice Cottage but area its not so nice

The whole process to get inside its ridiculous- lock on gate, unlocking box to get key, bolted front door to access mud room plus main door - so two doors - to get inside. Over all the cottage its nice to sleep and all, could use some upgrades. The internet is not fast at all, also no working cable or tv programming. Just like the free channels or air tv, Also since a company manages the property its hard to get someone or a quick response.

the home was fine - Vacasa was not

The cleaning people were still at the place when I arrived and the gardener showed up to work on the yard while I was still there. When I asked to check out a half hour later than check out time, Vacasa said they NEVER let people check out late. Well - they let my friends who stayed in another place around the corner check out an hour late. Get it together Vacasa!! Previous experience with Vacasa was good - this time - not so much

Completely cozy

This cottage is VERY well equipped and super clean. It’s just the right size for 2 people. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need should you choose to either cook at home or grab some takeout. The quality of everything in this cottage is top notch!
