"We were given a room with a mice problem and had to be moved to another room. The new room AC wasn't properly working, and it was way over 100 degrees in the valley during our stay. The parking lot is not close and, at times, is not big enough to host all guests' automobiles. The bathroom, in the room, does not have the basic tissues/Kleenex supply, so bring your own. They do not extend checkout, not even the usual extra hour (11am to 12pm) that every hotel offers free of charge. Instead, they will extend at a price. This, being a National Park, and with guests hiking and visiting, would be a nice courtesy. It's only 60 more minutes from checkout time..."
"Was looking forward to say but really disappointed. No drinks in room. Only allow you hot drink from reception between 9pm and 7am! No water available as they were waiting for "authorisation from manager" for a filter. Hotest place on earth and they would not let me have a drink which I thought was pathetic. Really need to sort that out guys come on, was expensive motel due to location, but this is a simple fix. No ice either machine broken"
"The convenience of the tents and cots already being up and ready-to-go is great however, inside the tent was dirty. The concrete floor hadn’t been swept, the walls of the tent were dirty with accumulated dirt, dust, and hair. The bed had mouse droppings on it when we arrived. We get we were camping but when paying for a ready-to-go tent, we did expect it to be clean. The site was adequate and came with a fire pit and picnic table. The restrooms were close by but they too need some attention. The women’s restroom had a lot of spiders, mostly daddy long legs but also a wolf spider. I went in and knocked down all the spider webs as they were surrounding the toilets but they were back within a couple hours. The sinks were covered in dirty underwear and trash people left behind. It did eventually get cleaned the next day. There is a separate outhouse with a flushable toilet that was much cleaner. The staff were nice at the general store and restaurant. Fuel prices were the most reasonable in Death Valley. The general store offers ice and firewood. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes."
Panoramic and solitary views of the Badwater Basin and Panamint Valley, especially stunning at sunset, offer rewards at the end of a washboard-like drive.
