They do their best to make you feel unwelcome. Check in was at 3pm - we waited 45 minutes. I watched others with reservations be helped as I sat tired with my luggage in the lobby. I finally got up and asked why my room was still not ready and was informed they did not have a room for me - I was prepaid. They grudgingly put us in a “temporary” upgrade.
Later that evening I spoke to Liz, a different person at the front desk, Liz was WONDERFUL! The only person I came across who was. She made the temporary room permanent for our 5 night stay and apologized for our earlier experience.
Evidently, some of the front desk employees treat third party reservations such as Expedia differently than direct bookings. I plan on sending Marriott a letter addressing our experience. Why accept a reservation if you are not going to treat them as a valued customer.
Beyond this, breakfast was good, breakfast staff/food workers were very welcoming in general, maintenance is lacking. I do realize this is a 2 Star hotel but they can do better. They did lose a customer.
