"This hotel while being a Best Western property, it was not Best Western quality. Our check in was fine. My first moment of concerns came as we entered a side door to take out luggage to the room and realized there is no security at these doora. All if the door latches have been removed. So no key is required to enter any of the doors. The parking lot did not feel secure or safe. We tried to park as close to an entry door as possible. There were cabinets stacked up and taking up parking spaces next to one of the doors. The room was clean but the smell of pot was a constant in the hallway and upon entry to the hotel. Im not sure its a hotel we woll stay in again. "

"Breakfast was okay. Cinnamon rolls are very good, sausage not so good. Safe property and parking lot. The hot tub is broken and pool area could use some sprucing up. The beds are good and the shower is excellent with a hand held option. Overall, very nice and comfortable stay."

"The Holiday Inn Downtown-Arena is perfectly located for anyone who wants to be close to the Golden 1 Center, which is why I booked this hotel. All in all, I would recommend someone stay here for an event at Golden 1 Center, but that's about it. The staff is great, don't get me wrong, but breakfast and parking both cost $35/day. You can choose not to have breakfast but if you drive you can't really choose to not park your car. My room was clean and the amenities were good, so I could get breakfast items and bring them back to my room however I wish I had a microwave. The tub didn't drain very well (and I'm not sure why the guest before me didn't say anything) so I had to take 2 showers with little drainage, and the water flow/pressure kept changing during the course of each shower which was odd. I did appreciate the daily refreshing of my towels which I have not experienced in any hotel post-COVID so that was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Next time I visit Sacramento for an event at Golden 1 Center I'll most likely stay at this hotel, and would recommend it to anyone else going to Sacramento for an event at the Golden 1 Center. The staff everywhere within the hotel are warm, friendly, knowledgable, and wonderful."
