Bargain Lovers Weekend (getaway)
We loved your home♥️ it was perfect for our stay in Ferndale. Our dog Willy loved the spacious yard. I found it a bit difficult to use the VRBO app. when trying to communicate with the property manager, prior to our stay. I tried several times, but each time the code given did not work in the time allotted. I was so glad that the instructions via email were very detailed. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay in Ferndale, we would like to return again perhaps for next years event! Lisa & Johnny Kvasnicka (Willy too🐶🐾)

We had such a wonderful and peaceful stay at the garden suite. It’s exactly what we needed. It’s a lovely country property within a very short walk to town. Ferndale is a true gem of a place with lovely shops and good dining options. Sylvia was an amazing host, providing us with information regarding sight seeing options in the area. We will definately stay at the garden suite again.

Lovely, relaxing location
This apartment felt welcoming from the moment we arrived. The space is bright, comfortable and the location is quiet and peaceful. The yard is large and dog-friendly. The host was very responsive, even bringing over a corkscrew when I couldn't find one. Overall this property is exactly as advertised and we really enjoyed our visit.

Perfect stay in Ferndale
This was a perfect-sized place for my family of 3 for 3 nights. We enjoyed the quiet and peaceful setting and location but close enough to walk to Main Street. Easy and quick communication with the host. We will definitely stay here again!

We enjoy our stay each time we come to the Garden Suite. Perfect for someone with a pet. Ferndale is a great little get away with good food and fun shops. We enjoyed checking out the Ferndale Museum and the little Carnegie Library on Main St.

Always a winner
We've stayed with Sharon & Sylvia multiple times, and love the full experience. Property is ideally situated close to town and directly across from Russ Park. Plenty of quiet space on the property itself, and the Garden Suite is nicely appointed. It's always clean, and Sharon and Sylvia are excellent in their communictions. We love returning again and again.

Really nice quiet farmland property with nice sized great room, bedroom and bath. Saw plenty of deer and wild turkey in the yard. Secure yard for our Frenchie to run around in. Close to town and 10 minutes to the beach! We really enjoyed our stay!

Well earned rest

Wonderful property!!!
My husband, myself and our labradoodle spent the past week in the Bluff House Garden Suite. What a wonderful place to stay. Sharon and Sylvia have decorated the Suite beautifully and provided everything necessary for a comfortable stay. There is a fenced in yard for the dog which she enjoyed tremendously. What a fantastic week we had visiting the North Coast beaches and dog friendly local redwood parks. Thank you Sharon and Sylvia!!!!!

Garden Suite
My partner and I stayed in the Garden Suite with our 60lb dog. We were well taken care of with many amenities to keep us comfortable. We appreciated walking into town, loved our view of the horses, and enjoyed being visited by deer and turkeys. However, we REALLY appreciated the pet cover for the couch, the fully fenced in yard, and brochures for hiking the North Coast with our dog. Thank you Sylvia and Sharon for making ALL of us feel welcomed.

Wonderful Humboldt Thanksgiving
Dear Sylvia and Sharon, Your Bluff House Properties made for a wonderful gathering spot for our family. Everyone loved the accommodations. Having 3 kitchen areas gave all of us the opportunity to cook our sides and a turkey in time for Thanksgiving. Great little place to stay.
Even though you’re essentially in town you don’t feel like you are, we walked outside and a deer was hanging out on the lawn, there are cows in a neighboring pasture. It’s a beautiful little town. The property is just as described, it’s comfortable, massive bathroom with good water pressure and lots of towels which is so nice when there are multiple people staying. Even though it’s a lower level unit there is plentiful natural light from the large windows. It’s very comfortable and safe.

Spotlessly clean, lovely garden apartment in a beautiful, pastoral setting. Ferndale was interesting to explore and this space was so relaxing to spend time in. Everything was in bloom, including the cherry tree! So lovely.

Really nice accommodations and so glad to have my dog there. Lovely grounds and easy walk to town. Very sparse on all kitchen things including food storage, no spices, few pans and cooking dishes. So be prepared to bring it all with you.

The Amazing Garden Suite ‼️
This was our second stay at the Garden Suite. The suite is very neat, clean, and comfortable. . The kitchen is well organized with everything you need to cook. The large fenced in yard was nice to have for our dog. The power went off briefly and the owners quickly brought over some electric candles for us. The Ferndale area is beautiful with a lot of things to do. We highly recommend the Garden Suite. You won’t be disappointed.

This is a lovely little ground floor apartment in a small farm-like compound close to a park and the charming cemetery. It has everything one needs, including a much appreciated electric kettle and teapot. Bring your own coffee and breakfast as there is not a lot available in Ferndale. We recommend dining evening at the Victorian Inn, just down the street.

Wonderful respite
A long weekend in the Garden Suite was the perfect break from the year's dramas. Accommodations were clean, comfortable and exactly as billed. We enjoyed hanging around the grounds with our puppy, and the the hiking trails at Russ Park across the street were a joy. Will absolutely stay here again next time we are in Ferndale.

Delightful and clean vacation
The home is artfully furnished and has handy amenities - it was perfect for my husband, me and our pup. You can wake up with a view of a deer-filled field, and still walk to down town for a great cup of coffee.

Quiet home away from home
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely property! They provided a couch cover so our dog could sit with us in the evenings - very thoughtful, some places we have to bring our own. The kitchen was well setup for the basics and we cooked breakfast each day with items we picked up at the grocery in town. Everyone was friendly and the hostess attentive/responsive to our two requests. We plan to visit again.

Very nice, well kept suite in Ferndale. Great place to relax and enjoy Humboldt County. Ferndale is a neat town with beautifully restored Victorian homes, shops, and restaurants. Russ Park across the street from the suite is a beautiful place to hike and take the dog. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to everyone!!! 👍👍

Peaceful, farm setting.
This was the perfect place for our COVID getaway to the Redwood Forest. The rental is on farmland but close to the road, we had a lovely view of the pasture and trees. I communicated with the host who assured me it was cleaned with a good disinfectant and many of the throw pillows were removed plus it is well aired out. Currently, they are not doing back to back bookings either so we felt pretty safe. Everything was perfect, the stove and kitchen supplies, the bed and futon sofa were comfy, the bathroom and shower were great and roomy, the setting, bucolic. Down the road is the Ferndale Cemetery which was so cool to explore in the foggy misty morning the day of our departure. Ferndale is 20 minutes from the Redwood Highway and is adorable with some good places that do takeout. They provide free wifi, the TV is Roku so you have to have use your own passwords but this worked fine for us. Excellent getaway!

We never got to stay here because the owner cancelled our trip on the day we were to arrive. On July 3. During a pandemic. So she left us high and dry on a holiday weekend and we had to quickly find a dog-friendly place to stay the day before July 4. We were to stay in a suite within a house and she'd emailed me to say the family renting the house was very loud and we wouldn't be happy. Why she couldn't control the noise and deal with the loud family is beyond us. Without giving me a chance to respond, she cancelled our trip. We did get our money refunded but I still had to pay for trip cancellation which I assume is nonrefundable. We've used VRBO in the past and never experienced this level of unprofessionalism. I would never try to rent the Bluff House property again and cannot recommend staying there or dealing with these owners.

Fun Spot on a Rainy Day!
Loved this cozy farm cottage in the beatiful Ferndale area! Walking distance to Russ Park and when it got a little rainy during our stay, we all had an amazing time in the Library. Definitely would book again!

Nice Second Stay
We and our pets had another nice stay in the Garden Suite. The suite is very comfortable and the large enclosed yard is great for dogs. Took a couple of nice drives past Centerville and south on Grizzly Bluff Rd to Scotia. The sun was out and we got some great pics of the beautiful landscape and some pretty happy cows. Bocce in the park is always a fun option just a little too windy on this trip. The close proximity of the suite to town is really nice. Dinner at Ferndale Pizza and lunch at Fat Anne's was good as usual and a visit to Ferndale wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Golden Gait Mercantile. Thank you Sylvia.

Bluff House Bliss
The Bluff Farmhouse, Library and Garden suite were perfect for our family and friends to stay in while visiting a wedding venue in Ferndale. All three were clean, neatly appointed and stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We appreciated.being able to have our dogs with us in the Garden suite. Sharon and Sylvia were attentive and wonderful to deal with. The property is quiet, private and a very short walk into town. Looking forward to our return visit in June.

OPen the back door......fenced in yard for our dog👍🏼 Yummy cookies on the table👍🏼......spacious!! Giant windows overlooking pasture. I forgot to bring my magnifying mirror (can’t put make up on without it!)....there was one in the bathroom👍🏼. We were very comfortable and look forward to returning.
