"I was surprised that the 2 cabins we reserved had no running water, I didn't see it on the Expedia description. However, the front desk guy Lucasz was able to give us a fully-furnished apartment for 3 nights, and back to the waterless cabin for 2 nights. The apartment was excellent. The clothes washer was working but the dryer was out-of-order, we had to use a drying rack. "Driving into Hjelle through the lakeside tunnel was magical. This repurposed schoolhouse was a fantastic place to experience old-world Norwegian living. Loved the nook beds and touches of history. The modern bath and kitchen were integrated well. The property manager was kind and helpful - he let us know when the early snowfall unexpectedly closed down the mountain pass. Was a great site to just relax and enjoy!"

"The front desk personnel was friendly and helpful. The room was nice. The bed was comfortable. There was a small refrigerator. The bathroom and shower were totally tiled, which was nice. The shower had a curtain instead of the typical glass doors which we liked better. It was great that both breakfast and dinner were offered. Breakfast was good both days with good options and variety. Dinner one night was thin soup and bread which was not satisfying. The hotel was across the street from a grocery store which was nice."
