We really enjoyed the house. It is in a fairly quiet neighborhood, and from the front it appears to be just another house, although the siding does make it look like a log cabin unlike any of the neighbors. But the back is completely different! Nestled in the trees with a multilevel deck descending to the bottom of the space that separates it from the houses across the way makes it feel secluded, even though your only minutes from the many stores, bars and restaurants in town. The feeders in the backyard attract a number of different types of birds that are great to watch while relaxing on the porch swing outside the back door. We used this as our base to explore the Flagstaff area over a couple of days. Easy drive out to Williams (gateway to the Grand Canyon and an old Route 66 town), north to the Snow Bowl ski area (no snow in the summer of course, but gondola rides to the top), as well as an amazing drive down a beautiful canyon to Sedona. This place bridges the gap between town and forest perfectly. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that in places, it could have been a little cleaner, the kitchen really could use a bit more light, and the deck could really use a few more railings. But all in all, a great place to stay!
