We’ve got the lowdown on how to make your flight as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you’ll be zooming through airport security and having a ball in Abu Krayyah in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, travel documents, wallet and medications. Next, you’ll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favorite shows are some fantastic options. If you plan to catch a few z’s, a neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight often lies in your choice in clothes. Prepare yourself for varying temperatures by layering up. That way you’ll stay nice and warm if the cabin gets too cold. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left in your checked suitcase. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you later.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There are plenty of ways to reduce your risk. Wear a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights, drink lots of water often and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Walk the aisles of the cabin or perform exercises in your seat.
