Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will get your Brocton vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you take the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between airlines, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, aerosol cans and flares. Sporting equipment like ice skates, and items that could harm other people, such as swords and batons, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight is often as simple as your choice of clothes. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left in your suitcase. Even though they may be your favorites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will thank you for it.
- A serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks or tights is also recommended.
