We’ve pulled together all the info you need to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our top tips and you’ll be hightailing it through airport security and having a blast in Florence before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you bring the right gear. First of all you’ll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your priority when selecting what to wear on your flight. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swollen feet are a common occurrence. Flat shoes which are slightly roomy work well.
- Most travelers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. There’s lots you can do to reduce your risk. Wear a pair of compression socks or tights, stay well hydrated and keep your legs and feet moving. Wander around the cabin or try out some simple stretches in your seat.
