We've rounded up all the info you need to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and exploring Guidel before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you bring the right gear. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good read. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, your medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your airplane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and don't forget to bring a sweater as it can get chilly in the cabin. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help minimize this risk.
