We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and enjoying Harkerville in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you carry the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any vital medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up, and wear flat, closed-toe footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
