No matter where you’re coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you’re well prepared. We’ve made a list of handy tips that will help get your Lae escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a hassle-free travel experience is to be prepared. First up, the essentials: passport, travel documents, bank cards and important medications. Next, bring on board items that’ll help pass the time, like your laptop or a good read. It’s also wise to pack your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones. And of course, don’t forget to toss in toiletries like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a fresh set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don’t have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive substances, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight is often as simple as the clothes you wear. Prepare for changes in temperature by bringing layers. That way you’ll stay nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left for other occasions. Even though they may be your favorites, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will thank you later.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It’s the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks is also a wise idea.
