Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Laurieton holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your highest priority when deciding what to wear on board. Loose, breathable clothing is a smart option, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
