We’ve got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you’ll be hightailing it through airport security and exploring Patan in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you’ll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any vital medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won’t be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and take a cardigan as it can get quite cool inside the cabin. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also recommended.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers on long-distance flights. But the good news is there are proven ways to significantly reduce your risk of developing it. Stay hydrated, wander around the cabin as much as you can and wear compression socks or tights.
