No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Phillip Island holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, your important medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and opt for closed-toe, flat shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
