No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your San Ciprian holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any vital medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your legs and feet moving.
