I've stayed in Florence a few times before, but only in hotels. This trip was for over a week, and I wanted a bit more independence. This listing seemed to offer exactly what I needed: great location, charming space, and adequate amenities, and for the most part, it delivered.Check-in was pretty smooth, just requiring an on-site key exchange which was a little tricky arriving by train, but we got it worked out. The apartment itself was very charming, and thank GOD it had an AC unit. It definitely struggled to keep up with the heat and being on the top floor of the building, but it was better than nothing.My biggest unmet expectation was that a property meant for longer stays would include basic 'conveniences.' The kitchen is great and I looked forward to cooking, but there was no dish soap to clean dishes, no detergent for the washing machine, and the bathroom supplies were sparse. Not the end of the world, but it meant spending extra time and money to stock up on essentials. Additionally, the shower stall door was broken and replaced with an oversized curtain that got in the way and made showering pretty annoying.Location was A. I would consider staying here again, but probably not at this price point.
