Home Away From Home

Feather Reef, is in an amzaing location and brings the warm feeling of comfort and home. The property manager has been amazing supportive, understanding and compassionate. Our family is so appreciative and greatful for our stay here and that there are such amazing people out there, such as this property's, property manager. We are forever greatful for our stay here and the memories our family have made during our time here.

Ocean breezes

Perfect place for our working holiday. The breeze of an afternoon on the beachfront deck is amazing and the house is comfortable and cozy. Can’t wait to go back.

Great position and quiet area. Bit of maintenance on house and fence would be great but overall a nice spot. Flock of black cockatoos and drive to ella bay beautiful.

Quiet Location

Nostalgic comfortable weather board home. Relaxing views of the ocean from the back deck. House very clean with all amenities available. Didn’t want to leave. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you for the great stay 😀

Location location location

A perfect place to unwind with friends. Fell asleep to the sound of waves each night. Beach was right on doorstep to cast a line or two. House had everything you need cooking & was very comfortable. We can’t wait to return.

Feather Reef Cottage Easter 24

Lovely peaceful area with very little traffic. The property is unmistakably "beach hut" from a bygone era, but brought back many childhood memories of holidaying in similar properties. The interior was clean and well-appointed - certainly not luxury but certainly adequate. Fully fenced yard for a dog or two. The bedrooms are well-positioned to take advantage of the sounds of the ocean at night, allowing for restful sleeping. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The weather didn't play the game but we still had plenty of opportunities to explore different close areas - Ella Bay, Coconuts, Innisfail etc.

True Blue Aussie Beach Shack

This is in no way the normal 5Star accommodation...Though to us it is a 5Star diamond in the rough. We wanted a Beach House...it is not this either...But it is certainly a Beach Shack, I would think it's one of the originals in this area. It's clean, comfortable and a real classic, the only things you need are your clothes and food. If you forget your shampoo, maybe washing powder or toilet paper, this place has it all. The beds are totally clean and comfortable...we even pinched a tag off a pillow, so we could buy new ones for our own home ☺ Everyone that visited us over 4dys fell in love with this Lil home.

Seaside Experience That Didn't Break the Bank

We decided to stay close to home, and took a chance on an affordable pet-friendly fishing shack that was looking out over the Coral Sea. It did not disappoint! Everything worked, and with continuous rentals (subject to excellent cleaning in between) there were even some supplies and choccies in the fridge when we arrived. It was perfect for our pets, the internet worked great (partner had a couple of work meetings during our holiday), and the set up just felt very comfy, secure, and absolutely zero stress. Popping into town was easy as and the cafe at the corner was perfect for any meal when we didn't want to cook. Take the short drive up to Ella Beach (take it easy on the track) if you want a day on a pristine isolated beach. Can't say a word against anything about this property. Just understand that it is a real fishing shack and your expectations will be exceeded. Already thinking about our next stay there.

Perfect basic little getaway

Lovely quiet location, basic but totally sufficient little beach shack with beautiful ocean view surrounded by coconut palms. Swimming beaches and waterholes are ca. 20 min by car. Beautiful tropical rainforest just around the corner. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfect recharge

Can’t fault the location, out the back gate 5 paces and your fishing or enjoying the tidal beach, with a “big sky” view from the back deck to enjoy a sundowner. The property was well appointed, everything your could require, to compliment a 4 day break. Our “boys” our four legged ones had a great time too. We are already talking of another stay.

It’s all about location!

A beautiful location without a doubt. Quiet and out of the way. If your expectations are 3-5 star this is not the place for you. It is clean and comfy. The shower access is not for elderly or the infirm. Highly recommend for fishermen and blokey groups.
