Great Home Base

This condo was a great home base as we explored the Charleston area. The condo itself is not on any water and the balcony overlooks a parking lot, but that did not concern us as we were hardly there. Beautiful Folly Beach is an easy 10 minute walk away; we would walk there every evening after dinner and watch the sunset. The condo is clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet. The garage is full of beach/fishing supplies that the owner shares. We had a couple of minor issues (a missing gate key and the water was turned off when we arrived). The property manager got back to us immediately and resolved the issue. I would stay again.

Excellent Location

You cannot beat the location. It's within walking distance to restaurants, bars, shops, beach etc, yet tucked away in a quiet neighborhood.

Perfect in every way

Property owner has thought of everything. The sunsets from the dock were stunning. The dolphins were there each evening as we watched the sub go down. Thank you!

Great place

Loved our stay at Turtle Bay. The place was great. It was approximately a 10 min walk to downtown Folly and the beach. It was very quiet in and around the condos when we were there and enjoyed the pool on some of the windier days on the beach.

Great Stay

We stay in Folly Beach a couple of times a year. Love the location. The check-in/check out process was seamless. Notified when we could check in early without any extra cost unlike some other rental companies on the island. Would highly recommend!

Great Stay in Turtle Bay Lucky #7 Condo!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lucky #7 Condo in Turtle Bay. Everything was as exactly as described in the listing. Short little walk to the beach and to the main street in town. The linens were great and beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed being able to use the amenities that came with the property in order to do some fishing and trying to catch some blue crabs. We rented paddleboards and enjoyed using them on the river. Great little place to stay in Folly Beach! Would love to return some day!!

Family vacation

Location was amazing! Easy check in. Rented a golf cart that was easy to take everywhere. Photos showed a tent with the caption labeled “beach equip provided. Spend the day at the beach!” There was no tent available but did have chairs and coolers available. I wouldn’t recommend this place for families with young kids (ours is 3 and 1). There was to many little things they could grab off bookshelves and counters and all the side/coffee tables were glass. Otherwise we had no problems with this rental.

Great spot, comfortable space

This was a great location, spot and comfortable space our our family of 5. We enjoyed our time. The kitchen had sufficient items to use to cook and we enjoyed everything. One recommendation is that the walls get repainted. My biggest pet peeve when renting is a listing has spotless pictures and great clean reviews and then you arrive and the walls are so marked up, it’s a complete turn off. Luckily it was mostly the high traffic areas, especially going up the stairs. People underestimate the power of a magic sponge between guests and touch up paint once a year. It saves you on a complete repaint. Other than that, the place met expectations. Definitely recommend renting a golf cart. It was a highlight to be able to golf cart to the Main Street or beach. Such fun memories made.

December on Folly not Jolly

Never having experienced the area before we did not realize how small the town was with only a handful of restaurants. It was unseasonably cold and there was nothing to do especially with teenagers. It was also not as close to Charleston as we were led to believe by other reviews. You would not be driving back and forth for dinners or anything other than a day trip into Charleston. The property itself if fine. Nothing special or great. Serviceable. It could use a refresh of the carpet and linens and blankets. It felt tired and a little run down. Might be good for a big family. It is run by a property management company and they are very chintzy with the products provided in terms of amount and comfort factor. I have seen better TP in fast food restaurant bathrooms. The kitchen is overly stocked with useless items like a bread maker and way too many cups and plates it was overwhelming. I am sure it is a good fit for some but it didn’t work for our family and we left early.

Pluses and minuses

The property itself was lovely. The pictures were accurate. However, the beds were ridiculously soft. If you need a firm bed for a good night's sleep you will not find it here. There are no clocks! No bedroom has a clock. Only on the oven and mucrowave. So weird. No salt. No.pepper. no coffee filters. Really? This might have been listed but really? I don't exoect a stocked pantry but these things are cheap and basic. No beach towels. Again, I think this was listed but really? Wr are at the beach!! These are the types of things I don't want to buy and are super easy for the owner to provide and make me want to rebook. Directions for the TV? None. Couldn't figure it out. The location and allotment was nice, but surrounding places were trashy. I guess you get that sometimes. Overall I would not rebook. Toomany missing little things.

Love folly beach

This is our 2nd trip to folly. This time we stayed in turtle bay. For several reasons: there was a pool, close to the beach and fishing access on the property. We rented a golf cart which I highly recommend due to parking restrictions. There are lots of free golf cart parking as opposed to paid parking for a car. And that gets pricey. We also found out after we had already rented the cart that there were several other rental places on folly that are cheaper. So check around. I have a few issues with this stay: the jacuzzi didn’t work. Not a huge deal, but it didn’t work. I didn’t know this until I ran the water, got in and tried to turn it on. Nothing. We got up early Wednesday to go on a fishing trip. When we opened the garage door, there was a car parked in our bay. The people who were staying next to us had more cars than the parking rules allowed and it looked like there was no one in our unit since we parked everything in the basement. So at 6:30 in the morning, my husband is beating on the door and ringing the doorbell trying to wake them up. Finally someone came to the door, with a barking dog I’ll add, and moved the car. The picture on the website of the basement and the “beach equipment” that we could use. There is pictured 2 kayaks along with other equipment which lead us to believe we would be able to use. Not the case. There was a sign on them that said for owner use only. That’s fine but don’t include those in the picture. Lastly, one day as we pulled back in from being out a repair van pulled in behind us and said he was there to fix the ice maker in the fridge. I said I didn’t know you were coming. He said it’ll take about 30 minutes but you don’t have to be here. Um no, I rented this unit and I will not leave you here. So we stayed until he did whatever it was that he was doing. I did call the office on that one. First of all, he could have come in while the unit was being cleaned and did what he needed to do. Second, if that couldn’t be done, then we should be given the courtesy of a phone call because if I had walked in and someone was in our unit, he would have more than likely been hurt. This is a beautiful unit with plenty of room. We have a teenage boy and girl and they had their own room with a bathroom which is nice. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch as well. We will more than likely stay here again but I would like to have a unit with a better view. Turtle Bay is easily accessible too.
