Nice space for a big group. We spent most of our time in the farm house because that is where the majority of the group slept. Pool house is very nice and spacious.

Ten of our family members spent 4 nights at this peaceful property. We visited a few wineries during the day and then enjoyed our time at the house in the evenings. We especially enjoyed the pool house, it was a great place for all of us to gather together and discuss our day and plan the next day.

The property was perfect for our large group over the weekend. The property is secluded and has a narrow driveway in and out. They give great directions to find the place so follow those and you’ll be fine! They were great with communication while at the property as well!

We’ve actually stayed here twice. Our trip was lots of fun. The pool house is great, we did all our cooking and eating there. There’s river access nearby and Guerneville is close. As noted in the listing, there is only one small TV and limited ability to stream content.

We really enjoyed the house. We did not realize though how often the power goes out at this location so losing electricity for the first day was a let down especially when hosting so many people. This caused an issue for a few of us who were working remotely and caused a scare for the food in our fridges and we were told to limit water usage. The house does have a landline so we were able to contact the rental office. It did seem like the house was prepared with flashlights but the batteries were dead. Luckily the electricity came back on just before nightfall. Gorgeous location but a reminder to people that it is located in a remote location so as long as it’s not windy or storm, it’s great.

Definitely a cute space. We did have fun. That being said, it's a bit like we were given a minefield and told not to step on anything. The pool house has an entire wall of doors opening to the pool...that you are told not to open at any time. Sound restrictions are unreasonable...I got a giant pile of texts saying our music was too loud indoors when people could easily talk over it at normal volume. A decibel meter next to the pool showed 50db...a quiet office...and no neighbors were anywhere near that close. The sound thing was especially interesting since there is a rooster that will wake you up at dawn everyday, but apparently that's OK. Hiking trails are cute. Beware there are several "bridges" (i.e. planks of wood over some decent sized drops) without handrails. Also, the movie screen in the pool house isn't attached to anything. If you pull on it to bring it down, it could very easily come crashing down on someones head. Pool house floor is pretty dirty. Pool house bedrooms have bathrooms outdoors. Anyways. We did have a good weekend. Not sure if I would stay again, but was enjoyable.

Great place for family group. Need better instructions on take out trash location. Better lighting around property at night for walking between houses.

Eight adults and eight children enjoyed the farm house, pool house and pool very much. The property has great amenities and is well maintained. The only real issue was the bees/yellow jackets around the pool. Perhaps some bee traps could have helped! Also, if live sporting events are important to guests, there's no TV service, so that could be an issue. Otherwise, all was great!

We visited Black Mountain for a weekend retreat and reunion with 14 people. Not only is it located in a beautiful and secluded area but there was plenty of room for everyone and all the amenities we could want. Each couple had their own room and there's also a bedroom with 3 single beds. The pool house was the perfect gathering area and two fully functional kitchens made dinners in the evening a real treat. We would highly recommend the property and property manager. If we're able to plan a future getaway in the Russian River area we will definitely look to stay here again!

Black Mountain is a fantastic property. Our group of 16 adults fit perfectly, and had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and left a ton of fun floats for the next guests (you're welcome! ;)), cooked big meals in the pool house kitchen, star-gazed from the pool deck, and enjoyed the nearby redwood hikes and wineries. The location cannot be beat! We decided to keep all of our food and drinks in the pool house kitchen because we spent most of our time down there (rather than at the Farmhouse, which is about 50 yards uphill). It was nice to have an indoor space that was separated from the bedrooms so the the group had a place to hang out after the 10pm quiet time without disturbing anyone. We're a pretty loud group (lots of musicians and constant laughter), so we had to keep our outdoor volume in check once it got late. Despite the large acreage, the houses are close together and the groundskeeper cottage is closer to the pool than we expected, but there's a privacy wall and we didn't see him more than a few times over the weekend. A few things worth noting: - there's no TV or internet in the pool house, and it's pretty much a dead-zone for mobile service due to the metal roof. - there was an issue with ants in some of the bedrooms in both houses, so I made sure to bring that up and I'm sure it will be dealt with swiftly. - while the furnishings are nice and stylish, the property is definitely rustic -- the pictures may look like a villa in napa, but think hiking shoes over stilettos. Was the perfect mix for our adventurous group. All in all, a pretty idyllic weekend. Hope to make it back to Black Mountain someday!
