I loved the view from the house. Very peaceful. The inside of the house was well maintained and cozy. The people who owned the house were very friendly and nice. I would would definitely stay there again.

All the comforts of home
This was the perfect place for us. Cozy and comfortable. Quiet and peaceful. Spectacular view. Beautiful weather and pictures. Visits by birds, Javelina and rabbits. Sights to visit. We enjoyed every minute of our stay!

A lovely hideaway in the Davis Mountains.
We wanted to be out of the crowds yet near enough to Big Bend, Marfa, and surrounding areas. We found a perfect apartment-style hideaway on Davis Mountain. Big Bend was an easy 2-hour drive away, through magnificent country. Easy to find, the cottage was clean and good order. There was coffee, tea, pots and pans for cooking if we desired. 2 huge muffins greeted our arrival and were the perfect start to the next day's journey to Big Bend. The bed was comfortable; the bathroom, spacious and clean, with a walk-in shower. We will look forward to going back to take in more of the sites we missed this time around. It is an ideal location -- easy to get to and comfortably quiet. The hosts checked on us when we arrived and left us alone with their phone #s "just in case." We highly recommend!!!

Perfect place
We loved our stay at the Casita! Pretty spot with lots of wildlife. Javalenas and Barbary sheep in the yard. House was located in spot where it was easy to get to fun activities. Casita was clean, well stocked with everything needed for a fun stay!

Cozy Casita
We had a lovely stay at this property! The property was comfortable and had everything we needed. The owners were available if needed. The sunrise was beautiful, the stars were spectacular and the property has several resources that talk about the area. We had a pleasant stay.

VERY NICE "HIDEAWAY"
Great location. Conveniently located to McDonald's Observatory, Davis Mt. State Park and a pleasant drive to Terlingua. We should have planned more time to see more of the area. We will probably return with an expanded "to do" list. The Casita was well stocked, clean, and a fun place to stay. Excellent privacy!

Great place!
We enjoyed our stay very much! The house was clean and well maintained. The mountain views were lovely. We came to enjoy the Hummingbird migration through the Ft. Davis area. Not only did the hosts hang up hummingbird feeders so we could watch them from our windows, they contacted a neighbor who had feeders also.

Deanna and her husband were great hosts. Checked in on us to see if we were enjoying our stay and we needed additional towels. We wanted for nothing as our stay was great and the Casita on Arabella was clean and peaceful. Can’t wait to come back. Close to Ft Davis town. Great little place
Excellent location - between Ft. Davis and McDonald Observatory. no road noise. Can climb up the mountain on the property, which is fun. Comfortable beds and climate control. We loved Casita!

Delightful, Peaceful and Private
The Casita on Arabella was exactly what we had hoped for! The location is perfect and private. The fully equipped kitchen makes it great for mealtime. The views are outstanding and the stars are plentiful. Deanne the host stopped by the first night to check on us. There were binoculars and reclining chairs for us to enjoy the stars. We would love to come and stay again!

Excellent for stargazing or just visiting
Comfortable, peaceful and private location. Everything you need for a getaway. Location is very convenient to the Observatory and many side trips. Great place for hanging out, making day trips or taking pictures of the stars. Deanna is friendly without being imposing and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. She gave us great tips for making the most of our trip. Enjoyed the sunrises, sipping on coffee and watching the Barbary sheep . Highly recommended

Bright Stars & Abundant Wildlife
We booked this place last minute to attend the Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Alpine. It was easy to find and the roads are good. There were lots of deer and a herd of Barbary sheep ran across the road right in front of us. The sleeping arrangements are comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. There were muffins and coffee as well as the basic necessities in the kitchen. I needed to contact the owner and she responded in a timely manner and was very nice. I would stay there again.

What a view!
The Casita was the perfect size and location for our trip to Ft. Davis and the surrounding area. And the hillside view from the Casita is absolutely stunning! Deanna was a great host: excellent communication, super-clean home, everything we needed! Highly recommend a stay here!

Great West Texas Getaway
The Casita on Arabella Mountain is a great place to get away and enjoy the remote beauty of far West-Texas. The property has great views and is conveniently located close to McDonald Observatory, Ft. Davis, Marfa and the state and national parks. The property host was very responsive to any questions.

Fort Davis Stay at Casita on Arabella Mountain
We had a quick 2 night stay in Fort Davis. The casita was perfect for the 4 of us with plenty of room. It has a large kitchen and breakfast area in the back. Views were amazing and we actually spent the majority of our time relaxing and hiking up to the top of the mountain behind the house. Great birdwatching and aoudad were seen on the mountain on the way up. The owner was very nice and checked in with us to make sure everything was OK. We will definitely stay here again.

Experience life on the mountain!
My son popped awake at 8 a.m. in the brilliant sunlight to scale their mountain peak. I used the wonderful binoculars provided to track his progress, lounging in comfort. Great books, star charts, and maps! Wish we'd timed it to arrive in daylight. Great access to MacDonald Observatory. Don't miss the Chihuahua Desert Nature Center.

Great location for nature & exploring
Loved the Casita! Far enough from the towns to feel "away from it all" but close enough for store runs, meals, and visits to Alpine and Marfa. Only one of our phones had any kind of signal or Wi-Fi so definitely prepare to disconnect and experience life in front of you. Still enthralled by the beautiful view. Would easily return for another visit.

Wonderful Little Casita
The Casita is a great place to stay, especially if your visiting the McDonald Observatory. Deanne and Lonnie are fantastic hosts. This little home is extremely clean and it has all the amenities you need to cook your own dinners or just enjoy an outdoor cookout. Beds were comfortable and we had plenty of extra towels, blankets, and pillows for our family of 4. We were treated with complimentary tea, coffee, water, muffins, and popcorn. There are puzzles, cards, movies, and even binoculars to look at the stars in the amazing dark sky at night. We were surrounded by wild life and you can hike up the hills nearby that have gorgeous views. We didn’t have an issue with the cell phone reception. All we did was switch our phones to 3G and we had reliable cell/data during our whole stay. We hope to return again one day. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality Deanne and Lonnie.
