For a very remote place like Terlingua this was a very comfortable place. Restaurant on the property was a plus!

I loved staying here and was treated by all the wildlife sightings from a bear coming down the mountain to a havelina and in between. The pool is wonderful and the rooms are gorgeous. I just wished the restaurant would have been open on our second day there but we made accommodations for that. This was my second visit to Terlingua Ranch and I would come back again if I had the opportunity!

Very clean and comfy room. The bathroom was a bit outdated but overall clean. The walls were extremely thin, we felt like our neighbors were in the same room with us. The bed was very comfortable. The office staff were friendly and very helpful. The dirt road in was very rough.

Helaas spoelde het toilet vaak constant door. Deksel optillen van t reservoir en even stop op tillen hielp. Afgelegen plek waar je kunt genieten van de rust en stilte met wat gemakken zoals zwembad. Berggeiten te spotten...

The drive to the property is an adventure in itself but the views and the night sky on a clear night are spectacular and more than worth the effort. The staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant staff was very polite and attentive and the food was great. Definitely going back for more stargazing, more peace and quiet, and more friendly service.

They staff was a good group but the rooms amenitued were at a basic level. The room was tired and the walls very thin. I could hear the people on either side. The big surprise was the last 3 miles to the Ranch was dirt. There was no advance notice when booking. I was on a motorcycle and it was a rough road.

Road into the property was horrendous. The last 3 miles was like a washboard (gravel with ridges). There is no cooking of any kind in the rooms. There isn't a microwave or coffee pot in the room. The refrigerator is dorm sized, so extremely small. The beds were passable, but not great. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked great. While the property itself was nice, it was so far away from everything that we wanted to do that we had to drive an hour to get anywhere. Food, other than the Bad Rabbit Cafe, was an hour away.

Great remote location. Staff was very helpful. Cabins were immaculate. The restaurant closes at 8:00 pm and is closed on Wednesday and Thursday, so plan accordingly. No cell service, but surprisingly excellent WiFi access. Be warned: the ranch is 16 miles off of the highway. The last 3 miles are a pretty bumpy dirt and rock road. You can do it in a sedan if you go slow, but an suv or truck might be a better option. You’re essentially 45 minutes from a gas station or grocery, so pack accordingly. It’s a beautiful, peaceful location. If you are wanting to get off the grid for a bit, this is the place. I was there a week and had a truly wonderful stay. If you’re looking for “a Hilton” with all the amenities, this may not be the right place for you. Again, to clarify, the ranch is great and I had a wonderful stay, but you just need to be realistic about staying in a remote location in the Big Bend area. If you don’t understand what I’m trying to convey, this is probably the wrong place for you.
