I was presently surprised to learn the Heritage and History of the place and had no clue that famed racing driver Carrol Shelby and Dave Witts were the founders. Staff was awesome. There was a nice hiking trail right behind our cabin. Would definitely recommend.

No coffee pot or TV in the standard rooms but they do provide coffee in the office or at the restaurant. They also have great WiFi. The long dirt road can be challenging. And although it’s Terlingua address, it is a 30-45 drive into terlingua ghost town/Study Butte. So if you want seclusion it’s the place for you. If you want closeness to entertainment and options, stay in town.

What a great getaway from the normal lodging you might find yourself in. We stayed only 1 night, but it was so great. The environment is peaceful and inviting with great views, and the food at the restaurant ("Bad Rabbit") was fantastic as was the service.

This property was amazing to stay at. It was remote and the staff were amazing. They offer shampoo, conditioner, body wash and not the little tiny bottles. You do have to pay for ice it doesn’t come free like other hotels but they sell bags there. They have the restaurant on property and the office sells things as well. Things to know. They don’t have cell service but they do have WiFi. They don’t have tvs in the room, even radio reception is very spotty. Just so you know it does say your 45 mins to Big Bend but it actually takes longer from the actual lodge to Big Bend. Plan to drive 1-2hrs depending on where you’re planning to drive to Big Bend. Make sure you have plenty of gas. Once you reach into town you will find a grocery store, gas station, and other restaurants and shop. They are pet friendly and we parked right at room. Half of the road and all of the lodge is unpaved. Stars are amazing at night and it’s was so peaceful. If you’re a coffee drinker bring your own maker, there are no microwaves in the rooms, but there is a mini fridge. Pool was beautiful and well maintained. They have pits by the pool if you want to bbq.

This is a property that is meant for like a weekend excursion of ATVs and horseback riding. It is located in a very remote area so if you want a wilderness area it’s great. If you are passing through for a nights stay I’d recommend looking somewhere else.

Clean, wonderful cabin. Good bed, good restroom, nice porch for star gazing. 4 deer walked up to the porch. Pool was a little too cool this time, but looked great. Ate at the restaurant and it was good. It is a long way down the road, but saw some wildlife and the directions are good.

Although this is a lodge by title and is a bit spacious, the amenities are few which don’t align with the definition. A coffee pot in the room would be nice, an option for daily room service, and a TV would make the property stand out. Not everyone is interested in a back woods experience. The staff was courteous, parking was never a concern, and the grounds were free from trash and debris. The pool area is exceptional as well as the picnic area and a restaurant on the property in this remote area made the stay a lot more comfortable. The view at the resort is breathtaking with the surrounding mountains.

After a long day of driving and sightseeing, driving the 18 miles off Hwy 118 (last 3 miles on a dirt road) was a bit unnerving. Once we arrived at the property, our expectations we far exceeded. We had a pleasant one night stay.

Lovely stay close to Big Bend. Remote enough from any hustle and bustle. Clean property and friendly staff. Met some locals at the pool and restaurant. Power did go out on us early in the morning causing us to pack up in complete darkness. Only issue we had was the one microwave was located at the lobby.

This advertisement is deceiving. It states it’s close to exploring the area. It’s 35 miles from anywhere. Nothing is around it. You have to drive on 3 miles of dirt road that will tear your car up. They have pictures posted that’s deceiving. 5 pictures show coffee makers and microwaves in the room. There are no coffee makers or microwaves just in a certain room. That is never explained. The rooms are dated. Our shower curtain had not been cleaned in a long time and the faucets on the shower did not work correctly. It stated there were walking and biking trails trails with an s. There was one. Also the pictures shown some said they were on property. Also a lie. The picture was in the national park 50 miles away you can not even sit on the “balcony” with out your neighbor passing back and forth in from of you. No privacy!! And the parking was also a lie. We got there there was motorcycles everywhere. We had to park in the road. Horrible place to stay. There are many places near the park, restaurants and grocery stores. This was not one. The 18 mile drive after you turn off the main road was absolutely miserable. The staff was nice and there was a good view
The shower/bath see the dirt at the bottom of the shower curtain. And the fixtures that were almost impossible to turn.

The ranch is located in a scenic valley about 20 miles away from the highway. It consits of several distributed cabins, each of which hosts 4 rooms on the ground floor. Each room has a little patio, in front of which there is place to park the car. The rooms are clean and offer all necessary attributes except a TV. If you're hungry there is the "bad rabbit cafe" offering good food with excellent service.

The unique Terlingua Ranch Lodge was unexpected and well worth the 16 mile ride across the desert road, especially the last 3 miles of graded gravel ! The room accomodations were more than adequate and the surprisingly refreshing pool area, the onsite Bad Rabbit Cafe (food selection, pricing, and portions more than fair), grilling/eating/picnic area's welcoming, and the office staff informative. Be ready for: Bright Sky and stars! Very little phone service and no room TV; only internet upon your choice. The T.R.L. was a true oasis in the Chihuahuan dessert at big Bend National Park. We highly recommend staying there, if you can get reservations !
